    1) Founders’ Porter (6.5%): An American Porter with flavors of dark cocoa, milk chocolate, smooth and mild roast.
    versus
    2) 3 Sheeps 15-2 (7.2%): An American Stout from Wisconsin with flavors of dark cocoa, rich chocolate, red velvet, and espresso roast. (Correctly matched the two blind)

Porter/Stout battle. First is Founders. One of the best and most balanced porters/stouts available. Dark, roasty, yet chocolatey and smooth. Excellent.
Next is 3 Sheeps. Another one of my favorites. Slightly bigger ABV. More sweet dark fruit here, but overall quite similar. Founders is slightly more balanced and drinkable. Both I'd give an Outstanding rating in the category.
    Winner: Founders Porter

I was going to join @DoctorZombies with a Coffee Cup from Common Roots, but decided to save that for tomorrow as a potential breakfast beer.

And I'm glad I did as this one is really hitting the spot on a classic New England spring day (freezing rain overnight/early morning, heavy rain this morning, then overcast, windy, and attempting to become partly sunny; should be a 35 degree swing by dinner time).

I'll probably try to sneak a full review into NBW in a few days, but the short version is: awesome. We really need more yeast-forward beers in American craft.

Good read, I haven't had any Summit EPA for a while but lately I have been thinking about getting some. Summit EPA was my main beer in the 1989 to 2000 era. Lately I have been drinking plenty of Summit Imperial Saga. By the 12 pack it's a good value.

...we often have a green leafy salad (and other garden veggies) with smoked salmon and feta cheese for supper...kind of nice to have something simple...I rarely grill salmon any more but we do grill cod and other fish every so often...

...Mrs. BeerGoot seems to be more of a shrimp and scallop person (and supposedly, our cross-alley neighbors are making scallops tonight), where I prefer fish, especially cod and halibut but also love 'meatier' fish like shark and tuna...

...I trust you salmon will come out well for you this evening :beers:...

Lo and behold I'm out of starter firewood. How'd that happen?
Marching out to the man cave directly for a beer and Ye Oulde Axe. Lots of black cherry wood at the moment w plenty of clear pcs. Like, no knots. And I baited some traps last night...you dirty rat...
Should probly get more of this beer before the Attack Of The 50 Ft Woman Administration tariffs kick in.
Pilsner Urquell. A can that got away from @tekstr1der :grinning::rofl:
    Cheers!

...you know me...I prefer Blind Pig over PtE but I would certainly take DDH PtE / Pliny for President over the other two...and I'll never turn down any offer of any of those beers...never...

ESB is definitely a style i will have when in a taproom/brewpub as it is rarely packaged these days. I rated this a 4.27 20 years ago, well above the average but i was infatuated with Alesmith in the earlier days of my craft journey.
Enjoying a 2023 edition of Dismembers Only. I have to say the many adjuncts (banana, cherries, cocoa) have come together nicely. Not overly sweet given the initial roasted malts and barrels, in the end is pretty balanced and viscous from the bananas.
    Cheers!

    1) Phase Three Be Cappy (7.8% canned 2/13/25): A NEIPA from Chicago with Citra, Amarillo, and Alora for flavors of orange zest and yuzu.
    versus
    2) Phase Three Unused PTO (8.0% canned 12/16/24): A NEIPA from Chicago with Mosaic, Vic Secret, and Strata for flavors of grapefruit and lime citrus, zesty white grape, peach, and floral notes. (Correctly matched the two blind)

Phase Three NEIPA Battle. First is Be Cappy. Lots of orange, with the Alora hop giving it some yuzu flavor. Solrt of settling down a bit now at 6 weeks and developing some more complex tropical notes as well. Settling into some nice complex flavor and improving.
Next is Unused PTO. Some good Vic Secret and Strata to give pineapple, passionfruit, guava, and coconut flavors. Great and complex flavors as well.
Two greats from Phase Three. Actually quite similar side-by-side and while distinguishable, difficult to gauge a winner. I have a slight preference for the Vic Secret and Strata combo in Unused PTO than the Amarillo. Phase Three has some of the best IPAs I have access to.
    Winner: Phase Three Unused PTO

Well that one and all other cans thus far have evaded me. Still never seen one.

I've prolly got PU headquarters buzzing about how much central NH enjoys the bottles.

Was the despatched rodent really necessary?!

Copy the Direct Link, paste it into the "Image" icon when you post here. Best way, for me at least, I never have a problem with imgur doing that.

I always love Summit EPA, haven't seen it in forever though. It was a staple for me when I lived in Illinois, when I moved to Texas they showed up briefly around here, but didn't last very long and are now gone. That would definitely still be a regular of mine if I could find it.

Today, I'm at Great Heights brewing...then on to a favorite Vietnamese place of mine, Moon Rabbit...pictures coming later...
