Have only had two cans thus far from the sixer. First one I did not give much focus admittedly but saw your post here and revisited it again to confirm some of my initial recollection in light of your notes above. Do share your review when you have a chance. Hoping these were outlier cans, too.

This is a decent Lager from Eckhart.

    That's one pale Czech Pilsner.

5L mini keg of Rothaus Pils for a summer BBQ? Sounds good to me. New label anyway. No idea on timing.

So here's a focused review on this new collaboration. Somewhat disappointing from 2 of my long-time favorite breweries.

Thanks for sharing your review. 'Disappointment' is the best word to describe it. Oh well. Need to keep my eyes peeled for the HB Helles Lager cans next.

Believe it or not, there's a local that seems to have bought out all of the distributor's stock of last season's HB Festbier 4-pack cans (big, tall stack) and is selling them for $6 per.

Their BB date was 03-29-25, but I bought a couple packs and have to say they're holding up well.

But yeah, eyes open for that new Helles.

Veni Vidi Vici Italian Style Pilsner from Larrabee Lager in Washington.

Light cereal aroma is rather nice, with some straw and a whiff of mustard greens. Sudsy and sharp on the tongue with a light body. Flavor is on the resiny side with a touch of welcome sweetness. Green hop flavors. The aftertaste is rather bitter with some astringency. Still it's eminently quaffable and mouthfilling.

Our Town Brewery (Lancaster, PA) - Words of Wisdom (Vienna-style lager)

toasted malt aroma, with just a touch of earthy hops. similar taste - well balanced, not too sweet

Another American brewer that calls their Grodziskie a lager. Thanks Live Oak!

I guess I'll add to the theme... although it pains me to do so.
This goes out to you @CarolinaCardinals :beers:

I remember reading post on here a few years back from an NE US brewer who specialize in session lagers. They did all of the authentic Czech things like open fermentation and horizontal lagering if I remember right. Does that ring a belt to anyone? I’ve looked around and can’t find post from the brewer, maybe it was my imagination or they have gone out of business?

I suspect you are thinking of Notch Brewing?

    https://www.notchbrewing.com/notchsalem#salemmenu

They do indeed make a variety of Czech style beers (and German as well) but of strengths greater than 'session' but I suppose this aspect could be subjective.

Thank you for the link, I’m going to look into it this evening when I’m home from work. I may be confusing the brewer’s last name with his brewery’s name, but I can’t remember either. He had made some pretty interesting posts on replicating beers like Pilsner Urquell.

I believe there's been mention of a Canadian brewery making authentic Czech lagers, too. Maybe even in collaboration with P.U.

One can surmise that lager>ale and maybe Live Oak opted to go down that path?
How was the Wayward Lane version? My wife and i are vacationing in Pittsfield, MA early fall so may need to make a trip to the brewery.
Speaking of Grodziskies, hopefully in the near future we'll be able to visit Fonta Flora's Whippoorwill Farm and pick up their version.
    Cheers!
