What Beer Are You Drinking Now? #4604

Finishing up my stash of this, I long for more imperial Pilsners. Love the flavor profile on this one, with loads of grass and wheat bread. It’s not winter anymore, but it’s damp and chilly in Northern Indiana, and this is REALLY hitting the spot.

 

Do it. When I go abroad, finding locally popular events are always a bigger payoff and are much more down to earth than big touristy stuff.

 

3 Floyds Oceans of Time Saison. Big banana, pear, white pepper, some clove, slight funk, slight minerality, grass, earthiness. May be hopped up just a touch in typical FFF fashion, but overall this stays quite traditional. More banana forward than expected. A solid offering from these guys.

Drinking. A new to me brewery called Little House out of Connecticut. RRRARE CCCANDY is a double hazy. CO 04/15 . It’s very sweet and fruity with a tartness , not my thing . However Boston is sounding good on the patio.

Breaking news here on WALE FM 100.5 on the IBU dial...wyfe went to Surdyk's Side Car w GFs. I placed an order for a couple bottles of Schlenkerla. Anything is possible

Another freezer pull for dinner . Chicken tortilla soup made from chicken stock ( frozen) and shredded chicken breast (frozen) Very easy to make in less than 20 minutes , will let it simmer a couple hours. Had to have a Union Jack after that sweet hazy last post.

Old Irving Beezer IPA (Citra/Mosaic). This one has won gold in GABF in 2019 and the World Beer Cup in 2024. That being said, going off this particular can, I feel like this one isn't what it once was. They did open a new production facility recently, so I wonder if they are still getting used to the equipment over there. Appearance is off and the aroma and taste are quite muddled, with floral, some generic orange, dank, and pine resin notes coming through. Quite dry throughout with a solid bitterness. This one is simply "off" for me, but it's still a decently made brew.

 

Joining @LarryV from earlier in having a Be Hoppy. My latest twelve pack I grabbed was canned 5/1 and is indeed tasting delicious!
