Buffalo Creek's Obligatory, a WCIPA, from Long Grove, Illinois.

The lovely bride and I attended Kalayaan Fest in Long Grove today, a Filipino festival of pride and Independence. They had music, food and some cultural events. I was not to a big of the Filipino street food, on the left is pig intestines, the pigs ears, tasted like pork, but real "chewy" and leastly a fertilized duck egg,
needless to say I plan on avoiding Filipino Street Food for my remaining days.

 

I currently have all their albums on shuffle, including the new one. Felker sure can spin a tale. Listening as he lyrically paints a setting is like watching the story unwind in person. Good Lord Lorrie is one of my favorites, and has about the most heart breaking of outcomes for our hero, especially after the promise of the open. Classic.

 

A Guinness in a dive bar on the way home from dinner. Band having problems with static. Cheers!!

Great beer for a nice warm afternoon.

 

One more before dinner. I'll lay off for awhile since I have a big beer planned for later.

The posts discussing Steve Earle lead me to play a song that I can't get out of my brain. I'm a student of the Civil War and have McCulloch ancestors from North Carolina.

Settling in for this evening at the house and enjoying this Cloud Machine. Good stuff.

 

I failed to rinse my glass, but the Motueka hop flavor came through in this beer. It is a very popular hop, according to the people I discussed the topic with.
