Back at the apartment in Budapest. So it turns out that one nice thing about Europe is that beer stores will just, like, have Cantillon and it’s no big deal. Been wanting to try this beer for … decades, maybe? And it was just there on the shelf for about $14.

This is a good sour, but more to the point, it is an excellent cherry beer. I love cherry beers in general, and the depth and richness of the fruit in this is amazing. Honestly I could take or leave the sourness and funk — they have done magic with the cherries here.

Cantillon Kriek 100% Lambic. Also pictured: some books I picked up in Valletta earlier today.

Really a stand out.

 

Sippin slow and easy like a Sunday morning,

 

Lone Star was 7.99/6 pack of 16 oz.

First time with Lone Star, tried them back to back, and to me, very similar in sweetness and acidic feel, still good.

 

Having a Lagunitas on draft next

 

Equal Parts Oarfish IPA in the glass...this is excellent to start the afternoon off.

Freddie Hubbard spinning...Red Clay is a masterpiece.

 

A Saison Sunday, though not as enjoyable in the glass as expected.

WBAYDN treatment, this is OK, enjoying the citrus, clove and banana, but too heavily carbonated and no funk makes this a one and done, the second this weekend from 3 Floyds which I did not expect. C'est la vie say the old folks, it goes to show you never can tell....

My first Fair Isle beer. What a great Saison. Brewed with fireweed. Very accurate to the description: green tea, herbs, and citrus. Sunday Cheers!

 

The wife made a copy of the Columbia Restaurant (Ybor City opened in 1905) 1905 salad and it's great! Tired Hands DDH Alien Church is great!

It's 92 feels like 100 degrees outside, pool time!

Another fantastic Saison from Fair Isle. Noble fir tips and Nelson Sauvin hops. Local got them for the first time. I hope they keep sending stuff here. And some leftover flatbread and Cubs baseball. Oh, crap, Tigers just scored. Cheers!
