The Action Is The Juice - Magnify Brewing Company - Interesting that it smells like sherbet or something but tastes more like a balanced DIPA. Something to be said for beers that show up and do the job without trying to show off. The head and lacing on this were fantastic, too.

This industry is one fascinating drama coaster. You go from hearing about the success (apparently everything is up here!) to catastrophe. Enjoying the morning coffee, reading about Great Divide changing hands at the end of the month (good god it's almost as old as me). That's one of those places that used to be an obvious presence when I was starting out but hasn't been here in a while. Then I saw an article about an in-state place changing under new ownership... which lead me to searching for information about a small place we went to years ago while visiting family, only to find that they changed hands and got run into the ground late last year. And multiple other closures. Chaos here as one of the more present breweries collapsed in on itself because it turns out it doesn't take much for terrible people to open up a brewery. Saw that Brewdog Cincinnati closed too (lol). And yet, new places keep opening, others are expanding. You can buy beer from around the world. Everyone is excited for Allagash returning here - saw our shipment of Allagash White come in today. The grand cycle of business in this country...

Picked this up at Mustang Sally last weekend. First sour I’ve had in a while. Cheers.

 

Three plus hours drive, now trying a flight at brewery #44, travel day 42 - IPA, Blackberry Sour, Espresso Stout, Tailwind APA:



The ales were watery meh, the sour nice and berry tart and the stout was watery bitter coffee grounds. We’re heading down the road…
