What beer are you drinking now? #4633

I have my notes, but we are so nimble it is hard to make time to put the work in…as my buddy says, “I’ll get right on that…” Cheers!

 

I’m in Lima OH now on my Midwest tour this week, and I spotted this beer which I’ve been curious about (because I like mango) in a gas station of all places.

Which is of course an immediate grab, especially since it’s a stovepipe. It’s a sneaky big (9.9% ABV) beer that’s worth a try, especially if you like mango.

Check.

 

First day of new job done. Prepped for 170 PP wedding Saturday. Beer me and make it a CD!

 

Had eye cornea surgery late yesterday. Post op instructions included a lot of stuff one of which was to not consume alcohol for 24 hours. Time is up!

 

I kept a promise I made with my stepson and spent the past five hours rocking climbing the Chapel Pond slabs near Keene Valley, NY. I haven’t really climbed since my Outward Bound instructor days in the mid 1980’s. It was pretty unnerving, but I held it together and climbed ugly, but belayed safely.

Revisiting an old friend in stovepipe format (not as good as I remember, prefer Impact Wrench to this one) ...



... and jamming on an all-time favorite 80's Metal song. Coverdale's vocals are great but "the icing on the cake" is John Syke's guitar playing that's so incredibly smooth and fluid. The guitar work is so perfect on this song (IMO), love it!!

How did it go - are you in any pain, do you have to wear an eye patch?

Glad you are back posting. Hope all went well. Perfect “house beer” to start out.

 

Thanks for asking. Last night it hurt a lot but a couple of advil took the edge off. I had to wear a plastic cup type patch until I put the first round of eye drops in. When I took it off to put in the drops I had double and cloudy vision. I had to put the patch back on at bedtime. The double vision is gone but my vision is still cloudy.

Had to go to a follow up appointment with the doc this morning. Learned a lot about what they did and why they did it. Anyway, I do not have to wear the patch anymore but have to put antibiotic and prednisone drops in my eye four times a day. After a week I wean off the steriod drops over a three week period.

Hopefully after all of this I can get the cataracts fixed.

 

Thanks! After a few days without my beloved IPAs, I was ready for a good one.

I'm happy to hear that everything went well. I'm sure the cloudy vision is just temporary and will clear up with time. Great that you don't have to wear the eyepatch.
