Moody tongue michelin pale lager. Great stuff. Light Aromas of lemon, rice, grain, peppercorn, herbal, grass. Taste of big lemon, wood, peppercorn, pine, cracker, herbal, floral, grass. Medium pine herbal spicy bitter finish. Crisp clean refreshing bone dry finish. Light lingering resins and lingering heat of 5.5%. A lot more bitter/hoppy than expected but perfectly clean lager flavors. Very drinkable. 4/5

Happy early birthday! I wish I could remember 38. You are still just a kid. Have a good time celebrating.

Thanks. It was a nice little four-mile hike up to the top of the knob. The water is a gorgeous turquoise blue in the rivers and lakes.
@Whyteboar Have not had Red’s forever. I am currently rediscovering Red ales. Guess i have been away from Caramel and Crystal malt dominated brews for too long. I am finding the so flavorful!
Onto round 2 and another Cold IPA from Ninkasi.
    Cheers!

Not brewed in Virginia. Not even an IPA.

Second round of thunderstorms. Neither of which were in the forecast. Worthless?

Happy Tuesday! I got an oil change today so I'm feeling very accomplished (it doesn't take much ). Today's beer is a really solid helles lager: Weekend in Sunnyside by Ladd & Lass.

I really enjoy this beer as a closer. Good Old Rasputin. T-Storms are rolling through at the moment, a lot of lightning going on. Looks to be short-lived though.

Oooooh, that sounds great! His Making of the Atomic Bomb is one of the books that got me into history and nonfiction in general. Didn't even know there was a sequel, of sorts.

ETA: oh yes, and happy birthday! Here I thought I was the youngest guy in this forum, at 43

I am assuming you meant the oil change was reference to your car. That weird aside, changing oil is the one best thing you can do to extend the life of your car. Back in my day, they recommended changing oil every six months but with today’s oil I think you can go 12 months. Of course excessive mileage could change that.

It's almost criminal that you can find that beer at a reasonable price on various shelves across the US. They could charge a lot more for that beer if they were so inclined.

Nazareth middle eastern for lunch yesterday. The fried fish sandwich was top tier. Shwarma and lamb kabob also.

Tarboro Bobby Boucher hazy ipa. Aromas flavors of red grapefruit, orange, peach, pineapple, melon, wood, berries, peppercorn, pine, cracker, bread, herbal, floral, grass, yeast earth. Medium pine, woody, herbal bitter finish. Medium carb and body. Balanced bready malt and sticky resinous hop mouthfeel. Lingering resin drying and light hop burn. Feels like Columbus and Chinook mostly. More of an earthy hazy ipa but enjoyable. 3.75/5
