La Blonde d'Esquelbecq, a French Farmhouse Ale from Brasserie Thiriez

Aromatic with yeasty oddities and cookies. Excellent sudsy mouthfeel. This tastes like no other Saison or whatever a French Farmhouse is supposed to be. Interesting, though, with berries and nuts, sort of. Herbal flavors with a touch of caramel. Very malty, rather sweet, but with the dry Belgian yeast underneath it all. The aftertaste is yeasty and bitter with some sweetness still remaining to the end.

Good afternoon, BA! I'm home alone tonight - family is out of town. You know what that means? BEER!!! Starting with one of my favorite doppelbocks, Wodan from Ganter in Freiburg. 7.5% ABV. This bottle was brought back 2 years ago, so it has a bit of aged. Notes over in the cellar thread. Prost!

I believe this is the last of the Strongback Stouts my wife brought back from a stop in Nassau on her work cruise.
A pretty good Imperial Stout for a tropical brewery. Cheers! :beers:

Was unsure if I was going to post it but a coworker had this sitting in his fridge. That said, nearly 10-years at this point BCBS; it has aged out and not nearly as good as 2-5 years. Still fair amount of bourbon, cola. Somewhat syrupy but still a good amount of carbonation. Unfortunately, soy sauce has creeped into this one. It's not overwhelming but compared to earlier years, I wouldn't advocate.

    Cheers Lads!

Really enjoying that new beer from yesterday's haul post. Fonta Flora- Wonderpilz. This North Carolina beer is awesome. I get the minerality from the granite stone and love the balance overall. Cool that 85%+ ingredients are local. It is so good I had to put half of the tall boy back in the fridge to save for later.

    No pic for now.

Having another Petite IPA from Oxbow. Drinks much bigger than the 4.5% ABV. Good mouthfeel too. This is the "smaller" version of their Farm House Ale.

I'm having one of those off tasting days, so Modelo and bourbon should fix the issue. Gf just ran out for sushi (me) and Domino's (her). I see stout in my future. Cheers!

Most folks gotta work Monday so Sunday doesn't work that well, we've been known to get a pretty good buzz by the time the Zoom ends. Good suggestion though - cheers!
