Today, my two new beers to experience were both 5% and from Ontario breweries: First, pictured with Sundae, my second beer from Vaughan's Grand River Brewing, and their Pale Ale...



This is one of the two craft breweries that Magnotta Winery owns. Here's the beer, poured: It was very delectable and refreshing, but I wasn't sure if the aftertaste was due to specific ingredients or to the processing itself--if that makes any sense? A 3.75/5, or 75% in my books...

This was my second beer of the day, my thirteenth from Etobicoke, Ontario's Great Lakes Brewery. Most of the time, I've purchased (22 at the moment) beers of theirs from any of three Windsor LCBO's (the awful one that's the closest to me when I go to my work and to my physio, on University Ave. West in the downtown area; an excellent one at The Roundhouse Centre on Howard Ave.; and my favourite one at Tecumseh Mall); three I purchased at Wal-Mart, of all places; one at Erie St. Gastropub's bottle shop; and this was one of five I got through Small Batch Dispatch, as one of the nine beers in their May curation: The 5% Wanderlüst Wallonian Rustic Lager. Here it is, pictured with Gracie...



...and here it is, poured, in a taster glass, with an awesome postcard from the reissue of Georges Franju's thriller, Spotlight on a Murderer (for no particular reason)...



It was excellent; 4.25/5 in my books, and I was even tempted to score it more highly!

Tomorrow: New beers from Greene King (England) and The Grove (Kingsville, Ontario)...

Happy Saturday BA's, y'all ready to sweat? It feels like 103 here but ya just got to go with it. Just finished 2 coats of wax on the daughters FJ, one with the DA and then a hand wax. She gets home from Europe Monday night and has no idea I've spent 12-14 hours detailing it inside and out (tires, trim and windows still to go), she better notice!! Arkane Aleworks Hopsterical IPA.

Another one from Bickford Brewing Co. - Grace Street Stout

 

Having lunch at Good Word Brewing. Had to have this delicious Al Boh NY Bohemian style Pils 5.1%. An absolute masterpiece of a pilsner.



Quite a varied taplist right now. Even a Chinese Lager? A peak at the list, plus they have cask ale - Brown Ale and a Bitter.

 

Punk IPA. Asked for La Trappe Blond. Not that picky today.
