My lawnmower beer of the week.
It's so damn hot and humid out, I wanted something cheap, decent but chuggable. This seems to fit the bill. Haven't had it in a while, it's a little bit sweeter than I re[IMG]member.
Today looks like a good day to keg my Belgian Style Rye Single.
It was a hodge podge of stuff I had lying around.
    Cheers!

Jeff, I know there some North Cackalacky still inside after last week. Hope you had a great time!
Me, just studying up on invasive plant management with the local Extension office classes. The property behind me has 3 different species including the dreaded Oriental Bittersweet vine which has taken down large native trees on said property. Don't want an invasion creeping up my way.
Enjoying a Hoosier Bock from Schilling. Better late than never for Bock season!
    Cheers!

Started sipping on this Backwoods Bastard at least 20 minutes ago, I think, but got distracted.

    1) Private Landbrauerei Schönram Pils (5.4%): A German Pilsner with flavors of crisp floral hops, yeast, and clean pale malt.
    versus
    2) Ayinger Pilsner (5.3%): An German pilsner with flavors of earthy, pale Munich malt, bread, yeast, and floral notes. (Correctly matched the two beers blind)

German Pils Battle. First is Shonram. My first try at this one. Bright floral notes. Crisp, clean, hoppy. Dry and clean.
Next is Ayinger. Slightly more malt complexity. Similar overall.
    Winner: Ayinger Pilsner

August around the corner, never too soon (IMHO) for Oktoberfest beers, I'm guessing Walmart will be playing Xmas music soon. @dano213 I know you didn't ask for my opinion, but that variant of KBS possibly my least favorite, fresh you couldn't get past the cinnamon.

Quite a day here. My dad passed away kind of suddenly this morning. He was 83 and had health problems but nothing that wasn't manageable. We've been dealing with notifications and arrangements for that from five hours away but thankfully, I think we have everything that can be squared away. We've had several folks tell us he'd want us (especially his grandkids) to stay on vacation so we're going to stick here for at least a couple more days and my sis is going to drive out here tomorrow so that'll be nice. I think he'd enjoy this beer-Hill Farmstead Society & Solitude #3. Cheers, Dad!

I can’t recall ever seeing a heat index of 116° around here. Too hot to even take a beer pic outside. :fire:
