What beer are you drinking now? #4688

1) Phase Three Double Pixel (8.0% canned 7/1/25): A NEIPA from Chicago with Citra cryo for flavors of lemon and orange zest, some hints of mango and melon.
versus
2) Phase Three Doggone Delish (7.8% canned 5/23/25): A NEIPA from Chicago with Nelson for flavors of vinous green and white grape, green melon, berries, floral notes. (Correctly matched the two blind)

Phase Three IPA Battle. First is Double Pixel, a double version of their flagship Pixel and formerly known as Double Pixel Density. All Citra. Bright citrus and floral notes. Zesty and clean. This is Outstanding.
Next is Doggone Delish. All Nelson. Similar floral notes, but more tropical grape and berries. You'd think there was the addition of Mosaic in here, but all Nelson. The flavors are robust and balance perfectly. Probably the best showcase of the Nelson hop I've had. World-Class and probably among my favorite IPAs of all time. Sorry to say this is my last of these. Until next year.

I had prostate cancer and went under the knife. I go just once a year to get a PSA test to see if it has spread. I used to have to go every three months.

Sheeeet folks, long day on trail this morning and then working this afternoon?

17 miles, uphills and intervals, 2100 ft of vert. Then 35' gym lift during lunch break.
(bonus pic is of Rampart Range Road, mtn in back is Tava/Pikes Peak; it's a dusty little climb).

Beer earned. P L I N Y.
ALMOST 2months old but still better than 99% of DIPAs out there.

#2, more beer fridge cleanup, Hop Butcher flies below the radar outside of the greater Chicago metro area, but their hazy game is the equal of any brewery - including the big dogs out East.

That’s right, I typed that. This particular beer is fantastic, IMHO, one I’d gladly recommend to anyone looking for a good hazy.

 

Anything I can do please DM. I was lucky to get good advice from a friend whose wife was a nurse.

 

I am now drinking a Vermillion by Tonewood. Thanks to @HoppingMadMonk for this tasty Vienna lager. Cheers.
