Surprised to see that this hasn't been started. Would love to see some Canadians and Canadian beer posted with thoughts and a picture. Although I'm in California, I'm from Canada and will only post beers that I got IN Canada or am drinking IN Canada. I'll be visiting a few times this year (Vancouver, Calgary, and Montreal) and will likely post from there as well.

Tonight I'm drinking Barley Wine Vin D'Orge from Brasserie Mille-Îles in Quebec. A very nice English barleywine. 9% ABV. Got this at Maltehops in Montreal. @Coronaeus - it's fantastic. Cheers all.

All the pours I am seeing look pretty good. If Iam not mistaken the house Pivo is only available from the tap.

Recently had a chance to try Canadian Barley Wine by Camp Brewing in Langley, BC. I think it's a patriotic take on an American Barley Wine style ale. It's fantastic! Tastes a lot like Sierra Nevada BigFoot BarelyWine. Nice *Canadian* hops with enough malty sweetness to keep it smooth and firmly out of DIPA territory. It was 10.8% and came in a 473mL can so quite a doozy for one person, but manageable over the course of several hours. As it warms, a lot more complexity comes out as well.

Highly recommend if anyone can get their hands on it.

Nice! I'll be in Vancouver next week - I wonder if I might be able to find it at a bottle shop.

A Festbier from Stockyards in Kitchener. The shelf talker described it as a Marzen. The previous reviews call it a Festbier. The jury is still out for me.

Fleur de Feu from Microbrasserie St-Pancrace in Quebec. Belgian Tripel with cloudberry tea. 9.1% ABV. The taste is really nice. Lots of spice up front. Black pepper mostly. Orange, slight lemon, cream pudding, vanilla, slightly tart (from the berries, I assume), leather, sourdough bread. I'm a huge fan.

Sheffield Ale from Sparrow Brewing and Roasting Co. in Cambridge. It's good to see brewers making traditional styles.

Poured a 473ml can into a pint glass. A fine, one finger head on a cloudy dark copper. The head soon diminishes to a layer. Sheets of fine lacing.

Malts in the nose. Some spice. Tastes of biscuit, caramel, toffee. Some fruity esters. A dry finish.

A medium body and good carbonation. Overall a fine ESB. It's good to see some traditional styles being faithfully reinterpreted.

Might be able to find it at Brewery Creek on Main Street. I found it at a provincial BC Liquor Store but it was a special order from the SIPS catalogue. The flagship store on Cambie might also be a good place to check. Good luck - it's worth the trip!

    Eir.

    Last night around the fire.

    Champagne barrel aged.

Unfortunately this like many others will never be produced again under the new owners and brewer.

Little Beasts Brewing in Whitby, Ontario.

Previous owners were a husband and wife. She brewed and he did the art. They parted ways and new owners took over. They produced some great barrel aged beers some of which I bought before they sold out a few years ago.

I didn't realize that they were still open, thought they closed at that point. So the new owners are quite different?

Most core beers were not retained in the line up and new regulars are okay but nothing to write home about. The newer offerings were low abv with no barrel aged beer happening. I am going to revisit and try a few but the focus on more beligian inspired beers isn't their focus now. The same situation situation happened at 5 Paddles but they still do something interesting now and than. Again will revisit them as well. I am going to dust off a few more cellered beers from both this weekend.
