1) Tucher Brau Helles (5.2%): A German Helles with flavors of smooth pale Munich malts, earthy honey, lightly toasted. Smooth.
versus
2) Weihenstephaner Festbier (5.8%): A German Festbier with flavors of pale malt, smooth honey, cereal, pale Munich malts. Smooth.

Tucher Bra vs Weihenstephaner battle. First is Tucher Bra Helles. Smooth malts, honey, lightly toasted. Very smooth and lightly rich.
Next is Weihenstephaner Festbier. A bit more robust flavors here. More complex Munich malt. However this may be biased as this is far more fresh.
Winner: Weihenstephaner Festbier

Did know that Harry Styles just recently ran and finished the Berlin marathon in under 3 hrs? Pretty badass.

 

I did, and passed that on to my daughter. Sub 3 hours is quite impressive.

Just did a quick 10 miles on my vintage Miyata 1000 sweet touring bike - on the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath trail close to me - sweet ride!

 

Courtyard time with beer, book, and pupper...

We had a "cold front" which meant it went from 95+ to about 88 degrees outside ha. But no humidity so, I guess its fine Moe and me out in the courtyard...

A couple of Guinness Extra Stouts, and hilarious JP Donleavy...De AlFonce Tennis: The Superlative Game of Eccentric Champions: Its History, Accouterments, Rules, Conduct, and Regimen.

What a title ha.

1) Phase Three Voltage Bloom (7.8% canned 8/4/25): A NEIPA from Chicago with Citra, Riwaka, Krush, Vista for flavors of orange citrus, lime zest, and pineapple.
versus
2) Phase Three Rule Of Thirds (7.7% canned 7/10/24): A NEIPA from Chicago with Citra, Mosaic & Nelson for flavors of white grape, snappy passionfruit, zesty citrus and tropical berries. (Correctly matched the two blind)

Phase Three IPA Battle, and think I'm repeating this one. First is Voltage Bloom. Nice Riwaka and Vista for pineapple and passionfruit. Zesty citrus flavors.
Next is Rule Of Thirds. I'm a broken record on this beer. Perfect hop trio with the Citra, Mosaic, and Nelson. This could be my desert island IPA, if there was such a thing.
Winner: Phase Three Rule Of Thirds
