    It is almost the 50th Anniversary of the sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald, which happened November 10 1975, off Whitefish Point, in Lake Superior.....

    Decided to make this tasting open Sunday November 9th through Monday November 10th, in honor of the 29 brave men who lost their lives, during this historic horrific storm on Lake Superior....

    Feel free to start posting here starting Sunday November 9th, raising your glasses of Eddy Fitz, in this historic 50th Anniversary year, of 2025. For those in the NE Ohio and Cleveland area, Great Lakes Brewing will be hosting educational programs on November 10-11 and donating $1 for every pint of Edmund Fitzgerald porter, to the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum in Michigan....more details below and at the links listed.....see you on Sunday November 9 and Monday November 10th - to raise your Eddy Fitz!!

    I especially liked Edmund Fitzgerald and Dortmunder Gold when GL was first distributed to our part of NY. After years of GL drought, they're back. I've been able to pick up Fest and Dort. Gold, but haven't seen Ed F. yet.

    I have the logbook from the William Clay Ford from the search, the last known 8mm film of Fitzgerald, transcripts from the Marine Board of Investigation, and am giving a speech in Superior at a local history center next week also. [​IMG]

    For those curious as to the "Robust Porter" style and where Eddy Fitz, "fits" in (sorry), check out this list of the top beers in this category.....a virtual tie with Founders Porter, with thousands of reviews....pretty impressive!
