    1) Barrel Theory TDH Rain Drops (7.8% canned 11/5/2025): A NEIPA from Minnesota with Citra and Mosaic for flavors of orange, pineapple, grapefruit. Clean.
    versus
    2) Parish Ghost Prime (8.0% canned 11/3/2025): A NEIPA from Louisiana with Citra for flavors of orange, pine, floral citrus, with smooth peach and grains. (Correctly matched the two blind)

Happy Saturday BeerAdvocates. Citra Hop Battle with Barrel Theory and Parish. First is Barrel Theory with triple dry-hopped version of their flagship Rain Drops with Citra and Mosaic. Bright, citrusy, and very nice.
Next is Parish Ghost Prime. A version of their famous Ghost In The Machine still with Citra, but with all sorts of resins and cryo-pellet technology done to beef it up. My first try at this. All Citra aromas here. Classic orange with some peach notes. Also a cereal grain and malt sweetness to this. It's malty and thick. Drinks very smooth, but not overly sweet. It reminds me of Drekker's King Of The Thing. One month out. I'm not sure how I feel about this one yet. I think I prefer it to Barrel Theory here, but unsure about the "World-Class" status.
    Winner: Parish Ghost Prime

I'm ready to relax with some CBS. Cooking dinner soon, and naturally I'll be shifting to some SOS. But for now ...

Prairie Grand Hazelnut Reserve BBA Imperial Stout, 13.5% ABV. Pours black, with a ring of brown bubbles. Aroma is chocolate, hazelnut, and bourbon. Taste follows, with chocolate up front, slight bourbon burn, moderately sweet, equally bitter. Decent mouthfeel if a bit light on carbonation. Overall excellent.

    Heyoooo...

    Finally checking at the bar.

    This time? Cerebral-Ghost Town collab.
    Mass Extinction in a glass.
Behold its clarity! Great beer... under 3 weeks old.

14 miles of rolling pavement>ice>packed snow today with some decent climbing.
    Unsurprisingly? Didn't get into 2026 Western States 100. @Beersnake
Wife says "just as well" ...

    Cheers...

Two breweries this afternoon. Two rounds of "pictures with Santa" for your dog or your kid for my wife's charity. Good times actually. Home now. Sweet potato shepard's pie in the oven.
Oh, and BTW, my second grandchild was born today, a girl (rare in our family). She's so cute.

Surly Abrasive Ale (9.2%): A West-Coast IPA from Minnesota with flavors of earthy orange, toasted caramel, and bitter pine.

Always drinking well for a cold and snowy Saturday. Not as abrasive as in October or November, but still holding up well. Very enjoyable and warming
