A couple Sips of Sunshine with dinner prep this evening. Steak stir fry, and it was freaking awesome.

Watching the NBA Cup. Just another game at this point but good competitive game so far. My bets need the Knicks to come out ahead.

Starting with a Double Crooked Tree from Dark Horse. Not quite as good as what I remember back in the day but a good beer. Had some Yuenglings at Applebees for the neighbor's daughter's birthday celebration.

Deschutes Jubelale (6.7%): A Winter Warmer from Oregon with flavors of dark malt, cocoa, dark fruit and licorice.

My second favorite Holiday beer behind Great Lakes. This one has a nice blend of dark fruit, cocoa, and licorice. Some toffee sweetness. Very enjoyable.

Next up is Smoked Secret Secret from Wayfinder, a rauchbier version of their Czech dark lager. It's weird! I've had a lot of smoked beers before, but the sweetness and smoke mix together in a weird way to yield kind of a root beer + cola flavor. Strange, but I like it.

Well BeerAdvocates I am behind posting for today. Having a bad day and sort of catching up here. First, Bubbler from New Glarus. Excellent and perfect wheat beer.
Next is Deschutes Jubelale, a great winter warmer to warm things up with complex flavors.
Next is Phase Three All Pixel Everything. The best of the best, but drinking past 4 months now.
Finally Magnify Disco Fries. This was surprisingly not great and herbal so figured why not chase a bad day with a bad beer.
Nice to clear the fridge a bit.

Wow, haven’t seen a beer from Dark Horse in a long time. I remember enjoying Crooked Tree and Smells Like a Safety Meeting about a decade or more ago. I also remember they had a reality show about their brewery for a bit
    Cheers!

I use the snake method often on my 22” Weber, it’s actually my go to for cooking brisket, pork butt, or even chuck roast. Usually two rows of two briquettes and water pan in the middle. Cannot go wrong. :beers:

Moving on to the stout side with a 2024 BCBS Vanilla Rye Stout. This is tasting great, the vanilla has faded just a bit but the chocolate, coffee and rye are outstanding!

The owner ended up doing some shady stuff and Dark Horse sold to ROAK Brewing. I think that was right around covid and the beers haven't been as easy to find since. Starting to find it more frequently around here now within the past year - Flint area in Michigan.

I am hooked on these Nixon interviews. Post resignation. No matter what your political party this is what a statesman looks like. Well spoken, proper diction and takes time to express thoughts. I know this is not a site for political diatribe. Mods can delete it if needed. You can go on YouTube and look up Richard Nixon Foundation

We used to live in a great country.
Just to stay relevant, still drinking this.

Found one from my Kansas haul last year, let's so how this holds up. This is last year's pic as well.
