    Founders Breakfast Stout (8.3%):
An Oatmeal Stout from Michigan with flavors of rich chocolate, dark coffee roast. Cocoa, and cinnamon oatmeal.

Guess I'm back to back today. Coming back to this for the first time in a year. All of the nice espresso roast, plus some cinnamon, cocoa, and vanilla. The can art change is an abomination, but the beer still holds up. I'm not a big coffee stout person, but this is the only one I'll go for.

Stellar. Always nice to get a "know you'll like this" extra as opposed to the "clear the fridge" extra.

...trying my hand at fancy-ass French cooking...I call the dish Beef Boogeyman, but Mrs. BeerGoot calls it beef bourguignon (but never understood the French language - apologies to @Shanex - 'Merican English, classic German, and some high-end Russian language stuff, I understand)...anyway, made some homemade bone broth the other day (about 50+ hours of distilling beef bones) and needed something to make with it...Mrs. BeerGoot found a vegetarian version of beef b., but I opted for a whole package dish...right now, I'm sautéing pearl onions and shitake mushrooms while the chuck roast meat pieces and base carrots and onions finish doing their thing in the large Emile Henry Dutch oven (...see, another French connection)...a neighbor gave us a small box of Colorado farmed potatoes, so homemade mashed potatoes are also on the menu...also have used the last of my homegrown garlic for this dish, too...

Having this Speedway Stout that's been hanging around for ages - 10/31/2024. I just tossed a bunch of beer that I know I won't ever get around to drinking. I still have more to purge - no point in keeping it if I haven't drank it by now.

...the meat turned out excellent...it's basically staying warm (after discarding the original onions, carrots, and home-grown garlic - and hell if I know why the recipe called for it - they're tasting and still have good texture - but I'm learning this recipe as we speak ...

...got the potatoes boiling for the home-made mashed spuds...everything is now pretty much at the 'wait and see' stage of things...
