Thanks. I didn't know him all that well but I met him a few times. I've played music with his GF a few times. He was 44. These kinds of events re-enforce one's purpose in life.

 

I picked up a case of this one for $26 on clearance! Last case too. Score!
Best by April '26. It'll be long gone by then.

Good eye! Probly a good time to give those clearance shelves a peek. I saw some Pumpkin Ales ystrdy at the store. They can't be but 3-4 mo old.

 

Good afternoon BAdvocates. I’ve got some work that needs to be done (before tomorrow ) but a sandwich and a beer sounded better! Chimay Grande Reserve is such a great beer but yes, the price is atrocious. Unfortunately I usually purchase only one Chimay brew per year to keep my wallet healthy.

Anyways, another beautiful 60 degree day here. Think I’ll go outside and clean the windshield on my truck. Sounds waaay better than staring at the computer!

Spent the morning listening to some of my favorite RHCP B-sides. Productive? No. Fun? Totally!

 

1) Phase Three Breach (7.8% canned 12/14/25): A NEIPA from Chicago with Citra, Galaxy, and Superdelic for flavors of peach, mango, orange peel, passionfruit
versus
2) Equilibrium Astral Projections into Multiple Galaxies (8.5% canned 12/28/25): A NEIPA from NY with Galaxy, Strata, and Apollo for flavors of mango, orange sherbet, dank passionfruit, grapefruit, and lime PEZ candy. (Correctly matched the two blind)

Didn't get a pic of my latest beer haul, but it was a good one. First up, Phase Three Breach. Citra, Galaxy, Superdelic. Superdelic adds some peach and mango to balance the Citra and galaxy. Excellent.
Next is Equilibrium with a cool name. More exotic hops with Strata and Apollo. I think they were going with Apollo for the name, not the hop flavors. Definitely has a earthy and almost leafy green flavor that dances with the mango skins from the Strata. It's somewhat unusual. Has quite a bit of that funky, signature EQ yeast flavor that I don't enjoy as much as I used to.
Winner: Phase Three Breach

New beer from Treehouse.
They claim it is somewhere between NE (hazy) and WC, and it is a little less hazy or a bit clearer, but by most standards, it’s still a NE IPA - the fruit notes are toned down and in some ways easier to drink. Its still good, little bitterness or pine notes.

 

Sierra Nevada Springfest (6.0% canned 12/5/2025): An IPA from California with Centennial, Citra, and CTZ for flavors of lemon, citrus peel, pineapple, and floral notes.

Lemony, floral, bright and clean. A pretty good IPA, but hitting the two month mark already and not sure I want to be drinking this at the 4 month mark come the first days of Spring. Excessive seasonal creep will ruin this for me, but I'm sure this has already made tons for Sierra Nevada. Cheers to Spring in winter.

 

It's 3 mile walk, $2 drafts Tuesday! Today's beers, Toppling Goliath Pseudo Sue, Big Grove Easy Eddy IPA, and Bell's Two Hearted. A pretty hoppy day for sure. Cheers!
