Wow! I never saw a beer with that high of an ABV. I thought 14% was pushing the envelope.

A bit more heads up, like a week-
Or even a few days. I could have made this work. I’m eastern Long Island. So takes me about an hour, train/drive to get there. That’s a 2 hour round trip on top of the work week. Bm next time.

Beer fridge cleanup, this has 3+ months of whiskers (canned 11/20/25) and is still drinking exceptionally well, with LOADS of sappy, resiny pine. Absolutely love it.

My eldest son left a butt load of these on his last visit. Works pretty damn well making coals on this 87 deg afternoon.

Ahhh yes. The plot thickens. That tractor pull of a town New Ulm has to make things quirky don't they?:beers: Hauenstein/NUB is actually (I believe from the last time I was there) in a building next to a city park up the road from the Schell brewery, which contract brews Haunies.

A Double Nuggie to celebrate the completion of this ridiculously tedious puzzle. We're not really puzzle people, but it was a gift from a few years back... and, we're def Iron Maiden people, and we've had a bunch of snow days (including today), so...
    UP THE IRONS!!!:heavymetal:
    My fave Maiden album, btw...

Literally most of the beers in my beer fridge (almost all of them if you don’t count the 13 bottles of Orval) are 14% or above. This one was the strongest.

Fall Brewing Company, San Diego, California. Plenty For All Pilsner, 4.8% ABV. Somewhat cloudy, fleeting head, minimal lacing, flavor OK. Well, what do ya think, huh?

It’s an “OK” Pilsner. Not exactly in the same league as truly monumental California-brewed Pilsners like neighboring Anvil Pilsner by San Diego’s Alesmith or Trumer Pils up in Berkeley. Nope, not quite the same. Better than the last time I drank this several years ago. Still not world-beating.

So when I see a remarkable phrase like “California’s Pilsner” on the label, I feel as though I need to admonish somebody for making such a flatfooted, gratuitous, unearned, prideful and obnoxious statement about a very average effort, but you know I’ll hold back and never do that. Just not my style to point that out.

“California Pilsner”, yes, of course. “California’s Pilsner” ??? Not by a mile.
