Back with a Tree House Super Cachet DIPA brewed with Cashmere and Strata hops. A really nice, easy drinking DIPA.

Sometimes you can get pretty good deals from the "expires today rack". My local does the same thing and they are usually half price. Nice beer too! Hope you're having a great Friday evening - cheers!!

Thanks, Larry! We always check out the discount racks. Some items make me a little wary, but there are some steals like these cookies. The sell by date is today, so I better get to eating before the kiddos get home haha.
I wish they'd have an "expires today" discount beer rack. For some styles anyway. Cheers, Sir!

Just cracked open my first Von Trapp beer, that I picked up back in NY a couple weeks ago. This is the Dunkel, and it's a nice brew.

Lovin' this Oyster Stout from Double Tap Brewing. I'd like to see it recognized as a separate style of stout. Whadaya think, @Todd? Cheers!

Oyster City Brewing Co. -- Hooter Brown

Dark brown yet relatively clear pour and body; opaque in the glass; thick, frothy, light tan head, long-lasting; sticky, spidery fingers of foam. Fine, malty nose; notes of caramel; hints of roasted grain. Nice grain char and mineral-like flavor; grain char bitterness; bitter chocolate.

This is a very nice, straight-forward brown ale. I didn't pick up much on the honey used for this beer, and with the ABV, I'd be inclined to consider this an imperial brown ale. Regardless, a good, solid beer.

Von Trapp is usually pretty good and reliable, especially if you can get it relatively fresh. Enjoy!!
