Good morning BAdvocates. I’m drinking a Coor’s Banquet on this absolutely beautiful day. 60 degrees, cloudy, completely still. Perfect weather. Supposed to play golf this evening, of course the weather forecast says the wind will ramp up again this afternoon.

Right along here ba. Grabbed a few more cans of this: Tipico, Italian pils, trillium. Nice stuff, 3/16/26,

w/ whopper Wednesday and onion rings,

 

Tree House - Shiny hazy DIPA brewed w/ Nelson, Paradisi and Manilita hops now. After trying a couple beers with Manilita hops in them, that’s another newer age hop I’m enjoying and on the lookout for, tasting dank resinous pine flavors with fruity red berry notes of raspberry and redcurrants, maybe even cherry. Paradisi hops provide a little vanilla cream maybe cedar note, and the Nelson comes through as well in here with big white grape, gooseberry and lychee flavors. Real hazy and smooth yet it remains refreshing with some crisp bitterness from the hopping. Pretty lovely beer if I do say so myself. Cheers all!

Took the day off from work because the grandkids came down. Good choice of days. It's 83° out here. Going to be in the '30s next week.

Finally done working for the day, but also got couple of other things accomplished. This morning the chimney sweep cleaned my chimney - and he confirmed what I already suspected, my wood stove is a dinosaur and doesn't meet modern code requirements. Sooo, this weekend I will be shopping for a new fireplace insert and I expect it will run me at least 2K or more. He said that code requires a metal stovepipe that runs the length of the chimney and said that the price for piping is through the roof so I can expect that to probably add another 1K to the cost.

I'm going to get it through the Stove Place and they take care of installing it and hauling off my old stove. I also had a cord of firewood dropped off this afternoon as well - I may end up buying another cord since I will possibly use my new stove more than I'm expecting. Right now I'm having a Patina Pale Ale from Austin Street Brewing in Portland Maine.
