Edison Brewery in Gahanna Ohio comes to mind for a great view overlooking the valley. Went there with Bluejacket74 and our friend Laura whom we miss. Good memories! Cheers
I might have to check Edison Brewery out, looks good. We’re heading to Ohio to visit my brother in a month or so. He lives in Delaware, just north of Columbus.
Wish I had some pics of my own to share, but Madewest Brewing on the Ventura Pier is pretty awesome. Right on the water overlooking the Pacific ocean. Sublime. Thank you to the OP for mentioning The Draughtsmen in Solvang. Don't know how I missed it when I was in town just a few weeks ago. I'll be passing through again at the end of next month so will be sure to make a stop. Naja's Place in Redondo beach also has a nice vibe and great views. Somewhere I have a few killer pics that I took during the sunset there but can't find them now, but here's someone else's of the marina right outside. Edit: My apologies, Naja's is a bar and not a brewery. Sorry for the confusion. I'll leave it here in case someone happens to see it and wants to give the place a try. It's worth it, the taplist and views are amazing. However if asked I will delete this portion of my post. Thank you.
Thank you for the tip. I've been to The Backroom a few times to pick up some bottles and cans, but never actually inside "THE" back room to partake in their beers on tap, mainly due to time constraints. What's the deal there again, something like a $10 or thereabouts fee to go back there if you're not a member? That's kinda what's stopped me before. I had time for maybe one beer but wasn't going to pay $10 on top of the cost of a beer plus tip. Next time I'm up that way and have a couple of extra hours to kill I might go for it, but so far that hasn't been the case, and unfortunately won't be the case when I'm up that way next month. Just passing through Solvang on my way to the Firestone Beer Fest.
If you have never been to ILL Mannered I would HIGHLY suggest a stop! Great people and fantastic offerings with something for everyone including big barrel imperials.
I’ve been to ILL Manered a couple times with my brother. Both the first location, and when they moved to the bigger place up the street, he loves that place. I haven’t been to the Marysville location yet though.
As promised in my post from a few weeks ago that I made above when I was traveling, here are the places with a view that I collected. Some are repeats, but the views are so good that it's nice to see them again. Bear Chase in Virginia New Glarus
I used to love going to Whetstone Station on Trips up I-91. Was bummed when it closed. I always thought it was cool that the state line actually ran through the bar. They had the line painted on the floor. You could sit at the bar next to somebody and technically they could be in New Hampshire while you where in Vermont. Had decent food too. Anybody know why they closed?
I remember that state line marked on the floor. I think I even took a Pic of it. The brewery is still shown as active in the BA database, so that 'closed' status is new to me. I was in town for a beerfest 15 or so years ago and ended up at this brewery for dinner. I'll have to read my review to see if I enjoyed myself. It's been too long so that my memory isn't helping.
I believe it's located on the end of a runway at the former naval air station at Alameda, so it's perhaps a little bleak.
