ps-You asked about Mutiny, but I had already tuned out from the bar, and then I forgot to reply. So I saw your post, and it was the UVA cap that reminded me, the hated rivals! , but yes it was at Ocelot, Mutiny, your girlfriend and me. Cheers!

pps-I don’t think I’d been back to Ocelot since that day, and with the great distro in our area, my brewery visiting days are practically over…

Full review linked above. I was stoked Revolution brought this back from their catalogue, brewed last just before I started exploring their brewpub. Funky, drinks easier than the 8%, though catching up now. Funk, citrus, lemon, coriander. Hops balances nicely. Recommend and glad I have more.

Central Waters Twenty Eight (cross posted from NBW)

Appearance: Black, small head fades out to a ring around the edge of the glass.

Smell: Chocolate, wood, molasses, a secondary baker’s chocolate.

Taste: Neutral arrival, then slowly eases into mild chocolate and wood flavors. Low sweetness but not bitter. Alcohol is apparent but not hot. Medium bodied. Stays woody through the finish.

Overall: A beer received from @GreenBayBA this is a somewhat muted barrel aged stout. The base beer and the barrel fight it out, with the barrel winning with some strong wood flavors. Very neutral—not sweet, not bitter, not overly boozy. A solid beer but not a standout.

I am now drinking a 2022 Parabajava thanks to @micada. A 13.8% Russian imperial stout by Firestone. My cat sniffed this bottle and wretched. The Fluffy seal of disapproval

 

I think I am done with new beers today. Might as well go with the classic.
