Good afternoon BAs! Easy drive so far today. Spent most of the morning exploring Wall Drug in Wall SD. Now at brewery no. 24 - Hairy Cow Brewing Company, try a flight:



The coconut porter, “Kyloe” was excellent. The IPAs were all avg. to below avg. More miles to cover today…Cheers from Elder Box, SD y’all!

 

This bomber from Costco takes me back to the days of chasing beer trucks in the late 00's and 2010's pursuing BCBS, Deschutes and Firestone Walker et al brews. Vintage Ale 2025 is close to The Abyss but definitely its own recipe.
FWIW i had to look at my Access DB and saw i last purchased an Abyss bomber for $7.99 was back in 2008, with the price peeking out at $16.99 for a bomber in 2018-19. The variant BA Abyss started showing up in 2015 for a then spendy price of $25 or so.
Anyway, this was pretty solid, glad i had the opportunity to try. Rated 4.04.

Yeah, hot as hell here today. You would have thought it was the Fourth of July with all the beach goers who descended on my town. We actually got an email from my daughter’s school saying busses would be late due to the traffic. Cheers Larry!

 

Another Czech beer, this one NEIPA from Pivovar Obora. Kinda pineapple-ey; not the best hazy but not the worst.

Right along here ba. Light cone, German pils, Grimm. One of the tastier pils I’ve had lately. Chilled mugs coming out players,

 

Finished up some yardwork and planting my started from seed tomatoes, into their respective containers outside.....beer o'clock!

 

Wow - that's amazing - the water has got to be pretty frigid still. Forecast is for T-storms later and cooler temps tomorrow. I wouldn't mind a good T-storm tonight but they usually just go around me - I live in Sutton.

 

I really like this beer. Last time I was in Worcester Ma, I went to Bay State instead of Tree House down the road.
They claim it’s 13%, though I’m a little skeptical
Sweet malt taste, leaning a little towards a Barley Wine.
I think they hide the alcohol reasonably well.

 

I just returned from my afternoon walk. Man, that was brutal but within a couple of days it will feel like April again. Twin Elephant + Troon = Bone Memory, a very good TIPA. Cheers!

This 17.5% cellar pull will be my last beer for awhile. I am scheduled for a non-life threatening surgery on Thursday that promises to knock me back a step, but I’ll be kicking & screaming in resistance.

Just checked into the hotel in Santa Clarita. Headed back to AZ by Friday with 1 more city to stop at on the way. Happy Hops is great WCIPA with a hazy side to it. Does not get enough praise. IMO
