I thought they (Anchor) made that rye as well...but I wasn't a 100% sure. Are the new owners going to distill as well? I don't know, there is so much "news" about Anchor now its just background noise to me...until I actually see or hear about actual product, then my ears will perk back up ha. But yeah, I remember that rye being great.

    1) Modist Ten (7.5% canned 4/8/2026): A NEIPA from Minnesota with Dolcita, Nectaron & Cryo Mosaic for flavors of green citrus, soapy citrus, pineapple, coconut.
    versus
    2) Phase Three Midair Moment (7.8% canned 3/29/26): A NEIPA from Chicago with Krush, Dolcita, Zumo for flavors of mandarin orange, pineapple, crema. (Correctly matched the two blind)

Modist versus Phase Three IPA Battle featuring Dolcita. My first try at both of these. First is Modist Ten, their tenth anniversary IPA since starting back in 2016. They make some of the best beers out of The Twin Cities. Dolcita is on show here as this one has green citrus with some coconut and vanilla notes. The soapy citrus and coconut note just isn't my favorite. Sort of reminds me of Sabro or Talus hops.
Next is Phase Three Midair Moment. Nice lemony citrus from Zumo. Dolicita gives a pineapple notes with some tropical notes from Krush. Hints of coconut, but mild. I like this one far better.
    Winner: Phase Three Midair Moment

...it's beyond my insight as to whether Anchor will resume distilling or not...I have no understanding as to how Anchor distilling transferred to Hotaling, but I do know Hotaling has been making the various Old Potrero ryes for a while now...

Yeah, I thought Fitz also owned Hotaling in the 90's but the ins and outs of following breweries ownership is crazy...let alone distillers ha.

Tree House - Escape Velocity DIPA now for tonight, brewed with Nelson, NZ Cascade, and Rakau hops. Real refreshing and bright with crisp notes of white grape, gooseberry, ruby red grapefruit, pomelo, zesty orange citrus, tropical fruit, pineapple, mango, guava, peach, berries, pale bready caramelized malts, and dank resinous earthy herbal woodsy grassy pine. Real great stuff from Tree House. Cheers all!

...feeling the pull of a good regional beer...La Cumbre delivers...

La Cumbre Brewing Co. -- Project Dank -- Radio Edition
    Experimental India pale ale
    ABV 7.5%; pouring temperature: 48.7 ℉; canning info: CO 03/05/26 BB 06/03/26
    Source: local purchase
Auxiliary vices: ongoing with the same pour and stick remnants from hours earlier...and now told by Mrs. BeerGoot that I'm sleeping in the back bedroom ...although I've found if one judiciously washes one's teeth and brushes their face, that most offensive cranial aroma emanations become a mute point...we will see...same dude terroir regardless (ooh, let's get funky, BeerGoot)...
