Think I know the answer already but...was chatting up the owner of one of my local distribs and he offered me a Rare from his personal collection. Think I'm gonna bite the bullet.

I'd pay it. Hell of a lot cheaper than trading for it.

You're insane. Its a bottle of beer. ONE bottle. Please don't do that.

It was something like fifty originally wasn't it? That's not such a horrible deal if you've got the money to spend

I would do it. I paid 80 a while back at a store in Chicago and don't regret it. It's one of the tastiest ba beers around and it won't be brewed again. When it was on eBay it was going for 150+.

Damn good brew. Up to your wallet if $100 works!

It's still on shelves in Kentucky, right? It must be available for less.

Haha. I guess if it really was originally $50 then this isn't TOO bad. But damn. The day I spend $100 on a bottle of beer... I don't even know.

Is it $80 better than two 12oz bottles of BCBS? Doesn't seem worth it to me.

Not worth it, had it more than enough times to know its really good but not even worth the retail price.

It's probably one of the best barrel aged beers that I've tried, but if you're paying $100, then try to find some other people to throw in on it so that it's not such a financial blow. You don't wanna drink that all to your face anyways.

Not IMO. It was my least favorite of the BCBS line-up. It still awesome, don't get me wrong. But I'd way rather have Coffee or Bramble Rye, and I'd take King Henry over all of them.

I personally would, but then again I make terrible decisions and have no business giving anyone advice. Go for it man!

If you have to ask, then no, it's not worth it. With $100, there are lots of other good one-off and seasonals you can buy.

for not too much more than double that you could buy a whole bottle of 23yo Pappy Van Winkle. That would be a much more enjoyable purchase in my mind. I'd hold out for that but yeah, if you can rationalize a hundy for a single beer then by all means, treat yourself right!

I know that if I was facing this decision the first thing I'd do would be to post it on the internet.
