Based on this thread http://beeradvocate.com/community/threads/cicerones.61479/ I started browsing the cicerone website yesterday where it recomended Tasting Beer by Randy Mosher as a book to read for the CBS certification, so I picked it up from amazon for the kindle app for my iPad. Made me wonder, what beer related books others are reading right now. I read three chapters last night and have really enjoyed it so far.

    Salud!

A little blurb on Brewrues of Massachusetts which frankly isn't very useful, but is easy to read.

I just finished 'Man Walks Into a Pub' by Pete Brown, which I'm going to presume is kind of the English version of the book that you mention. It is essentially the history of the British brewing industry. It was a good read.

Before that book I read another one by Pete Brown that is titled 'Hops and Glory.' It is the story of a modern day recreation of a sea voyage that was the first IPA delivered to India. It also was a good read. Pete Brown injects humor (or should I write it as humour?) into his writings, and I recommend trying to find his books. (There is also another one, 'Three Sheets to the Wind' that I have not found yet, but will soon look for it again along with a couple of others mentioned in this thread. There are not many of his books here in the US because he is published in England, but there are a few that are available in the used book marketplace.

It's not a book, but Charles Bamforth's lecture "brewmasters art: the history and science of beer making" is an awesome listen.
