Tried one of these at a bar last week. It was...off. Im not gonna say the "I" word, but it was a bit sour...not in a good way. Did you have the same experience?

Funny, now that you mention it, I'm noticing something similar. It's still good (for an RIS), but I've never had it before, so I don't have an experience to compare it to. I'll quote you some of my tasting notes from WordPad that I was using to compile a review:

"Tastes big and black and bold. Ultra-roasty and yet fruity at the same time. Flavors of coffee and licorice combat against tart berry and prune. Has that almost-lactic tang element. Cocoa is there, too, but not a feature flavor..."

Bottle notched with an Enjoy-by date of 02/2013.

I am having some homebrewed porter. I decided to toss a little crushed red pepper in this pint. Not bad, I will have to split a batch.

Also monitoring the fermentation temperature and krausen level on my OG 1.160 Weizenbock.

Started the afternoon with a Founders CBS, moved onto a 2010 Nemesis, followed by a 2010 Backwoods Bastard.

Cheers to the Founder's Tap Takeover at D's in Pittsburgh!

The few variations of JK glasses have only been varied by additional markings for fills. The first ones just had the JK logo, the second had one double pour marking opposite the logo, the third had single and double pour markings opposite the logo. They're nice glasses, and the go-to for me, but I've passed out a few to friends with sticks of butter for fingers.

Wow, I lose. I didn't find out about this until this morning. Any bottles leftover from the event? Specifically, CBH or Nemesis '10?

Might head down to Harris Grill for the Bell's event tonight. Still debating about it with the girlfriend.

Cheers to you anyways, fellow 'Burgher BA!

No, all the bottles were sold out, and the keg was kicked by 12. It was pretty disappointing. I was hoping to get a bottle as well. I did hear they had a few kegs leftover of the Backwoods and Nemesis, but I don't think they have any CBS left.

On the bright side, it does look promising that they'll be brewing CBS again in the near future.
