How about a guy who gives away the extras you sent him as extras? That one gives me a sad the most

Thanks for making me actually look up dichotomy and disparity. Still trying to figure out which one is accurate.

What if Rare Beer Q is a style that you hate or know you won't drink then what? You're not allowed trade it for a style that you want or a beer that you're gonna drink withiut it being a DICK MOVE?

I dunno about you, but I try to avoid sending styles my trading partner hates as extras, especially if it's a rarer bottle that I know someone else will really love...

I just did this for my Sandy Hook LIF box. Kewl dood from MN sent me two Abrasives. Happily shared one with my fwend, saw AnnArborJoe had it on his wants, and tossed it in.

    Sorry.

I try to send extras that my trading partners like as well I also use seekabrew to see what they can't get so I can send awesome extras...I also ALWAYS ask what styles that they like but I've had a few trades where I've recieved extras and was like "what the fuck"

The more I've traded the less I mind. It's becoming more common that I get extras that I already have plenty of or have had multiple times. If someone else has it on their wants or if I think they will enjoy it more than myself then I send it their way. Likewise, I don't know everything my trading partners have and haven't had. If I send them an extra and they in turn trade it for a beer they want more or give it someone who would really appreciate it than everyone wins. Either way, I made someone happy with a beer, hopefully

There was one instance when I asked a guy who xtra'd me 2 Heady Toppers (actually I think it was NJOssie) if he cared that I wanted to send one of them to a noob trader I was dealing with. I felt bad because a.) I love the beer and b.) its an extremely nice gesture for someone to send HT as an extra but I knew it would makes this noobs day. NJOssie would have probably never found out but I have a guilty conscience like that. NJOssie was completely cool with it and the noob was VERY happy and appreciative.

Edit: I actually think NJOssie thought I was a nut for asking him.

I'd be cool too, if someone asked, but it rubs me the wrong way when I go out of my way to pick something local for someone that I know they havent had and couldnt get on their own, and then find out they gave it away rather than drinking it.

Whatever, its their beer, but I dont have to like it.

I generally try to trade for at least (x2) of a beer that I've never had before. If I like it, I've got another one on standby. If I don't, I'll trade it to someone that hasn't tried it or just wants it.

I agree, in the spirit of being a good trader I went above and beyond to trade something and they turned around and retraded it I wouldn't be happy.

Take it to a tasting. I just hate the idea of profiting off of someone elses generosity

I have been getting a lot of multiple, easy to obtain extras from trades around the country lately. I have passed some of them along to other local traders that I trade with. I drink some and I pass some along. I don't see that as an issue.

I also receive some obviously because they still have packing tape on them.

I only trade for beers I want to drink. I could see the point of trading for a BIF box, but otherwise what is the point of trading, and spending the money we do, unless we drink the beer? Put another way, I work too hard for those beers I get in trade not to enjoy them myself.

Just make sure you "win" every trade and it doesnt matter.
