Just a fun little thread. I know that appearance is one of the least important things when it comes to judging beers. But I'm one of those that gets excited upon seeing a "sexy" beer in a glass. (As do other, I'm sure/hope.) Anyways, what style of beer do you find to have the most appealing appearance? Myself? I love the look of a properly poured hefeweizen (gimme yeast. gimme head.) into the proper glass (a weizen glass of course). You?

I have these huge snifters that I like to pour only a few ounches of an imperial stout in. Love the way that looks.

That drop in an English Dry, Oatmeal, or Imperial Stout... Dirty, dirty sex in a glass.
Guinness and Green Flash Double Stout both do it best.

I had a BA rasputin and she was a pretty little thing. Jet black with a thin mocha ring and a pungent aroma of bourbon.

flemish reds, lambics, hefeweizens, imperial stouts , the way black butte has a gorgeous brown head to match its dark black body !

the picture doesn't really do it justice, but a 12 ounce bottle of Yeti always pours perfectly into the Great Divide Yeti snifters.

A few of my other favorites. The way that old rasputin looks on nitro, perfect cascade, unreal head retention. Pliny poured perfectly into a tulip, it looks just like an awesome sunset. Last, but absolutely not least, a perfectly poured pint of SNPA, the granddaddy of all American hoppy beers.

    Guinness or any other nitro.

    Dat Cascadin' Eff't, bro.

Also a good vintage of DFH 120 Minute IPA has this beautiful red hue in the glass with wonderful alcohol legs (of course).

The color of this beer was awesome.[IMG]
I like the looks of a copper colored IPA with a big thick head also.[IMG]
This isn't all that pretty but the sugar crystals forming on the inside of the glass was cool.[IMG]

Damn near anything with me, but I am a sucker for the reddish to purple tints some beers have in the body. I think how it looks is as important a part of the experience as everything else. I did actually use the words visually stunning about a recent beer...

I'm not saying CCB Marshal Zhukov is the best stout out there (although it is in my opinion, lol) but damn if it isn't one of the best pours in the beer world. That thick motor oil stout with that almost as dark and creamy head, it is breathtaking!

You know you're getting older when a beer in a glass is what you think is sexy! I bet that your fantasies aren't what they used to be, either.
