Didn't have high hopes for this beer, and it was an average porter. Really wanted a sweet dessert porter, but it was not to be...

And I have to be honest, some of the music I posted before was from my youth and I listen to it now and... Well it sucks.
This is the only hardcore band that I appreciate now. They don't take themselves too seriously, as demonstrated below(fast forward to 1:10 for the action)...

Split a bottle of FIS last night. Half on its own and half with a scoop of partially melted vanilla ice cream thrown in the glass. I love this beer. Great choice!

Tonight I had a couple of fairly obscure bottles I recently brought back from Brussels: Villers - Trippel and Oud Vieille. Both were quite reasonable with the old brown being the better of the two in my opinion. [IMG]

Just made a 1L starter with WLP300 Weihenstephan. Making 3 gal Dunkelweizen experimental batch, with Cinnamon sticks and citrus zest in secondary. If this goes well, I might think about making 3 gal batches a couple times a month. Could experiment with a lot of stuff this way.

Then on to more beers no one drinks:

An excellent Saison. Great complexity and very balanced.

This is really damn good! The fruitiness and chocolate malt and cocoa are all very balanced. Nice complexity. I literally have 7 brand new Ommegang offerings on hand right now. Love them making new stuff all the damn time, can't pass it up. Love this brewery.

    Cheers

Having my Pliny cherry popped with a bottle that was bottled 1/29. This beer does live up to the hype. Amazing beer! Cheers!
