This. The first time I had it, I swear all I could taste was bitter for a few hours. Subsequent tastings have mellowed it a bit, but damn, it's still loaded with straight up aggressive bitterness. Love it!

    I love that beer.

Most bitter is probably Knee Deep Simtra.

It's hard to call, but SN Hoptimum and Great Divide Hercules Double IPA are probably the most bitter DIPAs that come to mind. Hoptimum was literally like chewing on a raw hop cone, it was almost too hardcore..

I had a 6 day old Palate Wrecker this year and it was almost hard to finish it it was so bitter. Let the others sit a month and it was much more drinkable.

Yeah, I was "most bitter" about that beer after DFH "dialed back the tartness" a few years ago now.

Pliny or Palate Wrecker. I would say PW because it has much less flavor - just pure bitter. That being said, Pliny made my tongue feel like a pillow! 1000 IBU is up there, but I did not have it fresh. 471 and Hopsickle also rate.

I may put that on tap this summer, I toyed with it last year and sort of regret not doing it.
