Not a fun topic, if you're blessed with plenty of cash, get out of here!

So... How do YOU manage it?

I specifically allocate a maximum of $50-$60/week for beer and beer related wares. Last week, I spent $400 on beer. Try and guess how financially responsibly I am.

Budgeting, that's a good idea ...in theory.

Walk 36 miles round trip to and from work. Can save up a ton by not buying gas!

I get paid bi-weekly and while I am not "poor", I am by no means wealthy. I don't have a monthly budget as far as a number, but in the winter months, I usually only buy the rare items as most of the BA and more sought after items come out between November and April. The other months of the year I spend buying wider release beers to cellar for the winter or daily drinkers that will go quickly.

I have 2 main stores that I go to and one is bigger than the other one and they have a better selection. The smaller store will often sell the same beer as the larger one for at least a buck cheaper so obviously I'm gonna get the beer there unless the beer I want is only sold at the larger store.

Wife and I pay all bills, savings and additional expenses before allotting money to discretionary spending like beer. In months where the budget is tight we spend less on beer (and other discretionary purposes) but we have a lot of beer at home between what we have bought and homebrew so we are never short on beer.

Ive budgeted to the dollar the last few months which has allowed mr to save a great deal of money.

$75 a week on beer. If I don't spend it, it rolls over

My budgeting is done naturally through the pace of my drinking. I like to drink my beers slowly and will only drink 1-2 (granted, mostly 8% or above) beers in an evening. Obviously I can't stock up on too many IPAs or other fresh beers at that pace. I also tend to only buy 12oz bottles and growlers unless I find something limited or very exciting (for instance CR BCBS).

Budgeting really works for me...until there's a beer that I possibly couldn't pass on buying.

I plan out my beer consumption a week in advance, excluding weekends, drinking a lot less during the week (usually single digit beers mon-thu). There is no budgeting to be spoken of when it comes to weekend brews, however.

My finances are fine, which is sort of an oxymoron since I'm in the military. I'm a pretty frugal guy and beer is one one of the few things I spend money on.

Now the real ironic thing I've noticed lately... About 2/3 of what I spend goes to cellar beers that I won't drink for at least a year.

Part time job with that money being exclusively used for beer. Home brew purchases come out of that money as well.
