Liked mud, liked the barleywine. I didn't think it tasted like a barleywine. My hubby liked it and he doesn't like barleywines. It was sweet, Scotch Ale like to me. I need to taste it again with a clean palate because it seems not everyone liked it.

Weird that everybody loves Michigan Mud, but not the barleywine. I liked the barleywine, but found it hard to finish my draft of Michigan Mud. This was, however, directly after having both eisbocks on draft.

The mud was awesome. Have not tried the gold but have a bottle. Liked the blueberry eisbock, but loved the raz eisbock.

What do I know about Kuhnhenn? Well, first of all, I know that the name of the brewery is Kuhnhenn (no "s") not Kuhnhenns. If you are going to try to frame me as someone with a less-informed opinion than you because I "just don't know Kuhnhenn and you do" then it's fairly important to be accurate about the name of the brewery .

As far as the rest of your post, I know what the 2007 release cost, I'm aware of the explantion regarding the pricing of the most recent release (about double the price--12 oz. vs. 6 oz.), I'm very aware of the Kuhnhenn reputation of being less than organized, and yes, I've been to Kuhnhenn, but never for one of the events/parties, etc.

I just find it hard to believe that the cost of brewing the eisbocks justifies a price of around $2.50 an oz. I've even seen it stated that Kuhnhenn is taking a loss on these beers which is even harder to believe. Perhaps they are, but it's hard to believe. I'd be curious to see how they figured that out.

I do love Kuhnhenn's beer. In the end, as much as I decried the high prices for these brews I'm sure I would have had a draft of each, especially considering the opinions of some of the contributors to this thread who I tend to trust and agree with more often than not. I really would like to try these unique brews once. However, at that price once would probably be enough.

Cheers, I hope all of you that sampled the eisbocks enjoyed them.

Did you really just resurrect this thread to offer no valuable insight and nitpick about an "s" on the end of Kuhnhenn?

He didn't frame you as uninformed, your post that he replied to did a good enough job of that.

No, I was responding to his reply and haven't had a chance until now. I disagree, it wasn't uninformed as I believe the 2007 price point may have been excessive as well. I'm done with this thread, which I'm sure you're thrilled about. I'm a non-Michigander who offered a valid dissenting opinion in a thread of homer Michganders who aren't open to a dissenting opinion.

Well, I'll add something constructive to the thread - Raspberry is STILL on tap.

Seriously, what kind of lame ass logic are you still employing still. If I was using their full actual name, I'd have said Kuhnhenn Brewing Co. Rather, I was using a familiar derivation relating to Eric and Brett's business. If you're going to try to shit on someone's grammar/spelling at least criticize the right point in my omission of the apostrophe. Otherwise, I'm glad you concede to the other points I raised and I hope you get an opportunity to try these one day.

If I were a Kuhnhenn I would be laughing my ass off at this thread.
