After decades of sampling dozens of non-barrel-aged examples, I now only buy the following:

Seasonal: Chillwave, Hop Ranch, Hoptimum, The Illinois, A Little Sumpin' Extra
2015 was nowhere near as bad as 2014. I still see more 2014 on shelves than I do of 2015.

I would guess price is the major factor. Many people may not perceive how much better a Weihenstephaner beer may be versus a similar-style beer...
