Its a time limit. Trusts can own for-profit businesses, but only for a limited time frame. IIRC, its to prevent using the trust as a tax shield...

No one has suggested that a distribution tier shouldnt exist. Just that the franchise laws need to go.
And additionally, to add to my previous post, you cant fire a poor distributor (easily) because of the franchise laws.
