No reason to be ashamed of any beer imo, it's beer. Whatever floats your boat.
That said, High Life would be my go to when craft options are lacking.
I like my IPA's fresh from the field, squeeze out the hop juice into the proper glassware while onsight and drink up! ahh fresh! :)
Mine changes - but currently it's probably Surly Furious and Summit Saga, Indeed Day Tripper is a nice go to as well.

I drink Miller High Life when not drinking craft.
I drink it mostly in the summer or while mowing my lawn.
All of the Surly beers mentioned are great choices.
But don't make a stop in MN without getting some Let it Ride IPA from Indeed, yeah not...
