That's FANTASTIC information. Thanks! Too bad we only have 3 nights to go places. I DO have to also attend my conference:wink:
P.S.: I'm basically a stout lover so I do need to keep some luggage "open" for bringing back some bottles, no?

agreed. I almost added the stone in union station, but I didn't want to include breweries and even though it's more bar than brewery, I tried to stay consistent. I love that place.

you should add fathom bistro bait and tackle to your list. it's on a fishing pier on shelter island overlooking downtown and has an amazingly well-curated list.

full disclosure - it's a good friend's place, but I'd recommend it even if he were a dick. which, come to think of it, he kind of is.

Not going to list ten but one of my favorite a bit inland in Orange County, CA is out of the park pizza. Always a solid rotating selection, great tap takeovers with rares constantly and mind blowing pizza (the chuck Norris)

I've got to say - I don't mind places being mentioned multiple times, at this point it just reinforces spots I need to add to my bucket list. I (maybe sadly) live to visit perfect bars and drink perfect beers. I've read every post in this thread... and will actually be trying a few pubs mentioned here within the next month. Keep em coming!

Also I completely forgot about The Porch in Key West, FL. Really relaxed place, nice being able to take the beer basically out to the street or sit on a bench and people watch. Also very romantic at night with a lot of intimacy despite all the people around.

I've been to Gulu-Gulu - last year on vacation. They've got a great vibe, very good food and a small but impressive draft list. I had a sampler - 4 brews I wouldn't have had access in to NC. I also took a photo of Bunghole Liquors - which I bet you've seen... that name kind of sticks with you.
  26. HookerBrews

Haha yeah, Bunghole is a tough one to forget. I don't get out to Salem too often, but I always stop in at Gulu-Gulu when I do. Come to think of it, I spent this past New Year's Eve there. They had a disco themed party and passed out champagne to everyone that was there at midnight. I've definitely done worse for New Year's!

Some that I remember as being a good experience. Beer Bars, not breweries, unless noted.

    The Trapist, Oakland
    The Map Room Chicago
    Monks Philly
    Blind Tiger Ale House NYC
    Falling Rock Denver
    Horse Brass Pub Portland OR
Hopcat Grand Rapids MI - they do have 3 house brewed beer on tap, but the brewery is not the emphasis. The one in East Lansing is decent too.
The White Horse on Parson's Green, London
    De Kulminator Antwerp Belgium
    Café Abseits Bamberg DE

I could have listed many more, but for the first cut I had 11.

Aromas in Athens - sweet! I didn't know about that one and I'll be in Athens sometime later this year. Trapeze was the spot we had a lot of fun at - great service and amazing drafts, nice bottle list too. It's been maybe three years since we were last there - so I imagine it's changed a lot. I'm adding Aromas to my list.
