Interested in some great beers for the winter, new to this forum still figuring out the layout.
Already have The Abyss always been a favorite, what else would you recommend for the winter I can pick up locally?

Love all the barrel aged, heavily spiced winter warmers and stouts that come out this time of year, but after a few too many of them, it's nice to have something with a bit of a hop heavy bite. Double Mountains Fa la la la la always fills the bill for me when I'm in need of a hop fix after too many spice bombs iand impy stouts.

It's pretty limited, and right now I don't even believe you can get it at the brewpub (could be wrong about that, as I haven't been over in several weeks now). In the past, places like Belmont Station and the Hop & Vine have had bottles, but I don't know if they do at present (or if they're going to get any this year). On tap, look for it at the same places, though usually it doesn't last very long even when those places get it in.

(they had a limited number of bottles available for sale during the cellar reserve release event, but I believe they were all bought up at that event)

The cellar reserve release was back on 9/14. I forget how many botles they had, but it wasn't a lot, and what they had were all gone after the event.

Not sure when the next release will be, but it might be pretty soon, as normally they release it right around the holidays (if memory serves).

Agreed! Hopworks Abominable does the trick for me, especially fresh (i.e. right now). And it's in cans, which I'm a sucker for.

Yes the A-bomb is pretty tasty, hoppier than last year too! Brown shugga is always a wintertime classic for me too. I also loved Fire Mountains hangman ale. Always gotta have a sleigh'r and a brrr every year too!

The Figgy Pudding release was on the 16th along with Framboise White. So unfortunately if you were hoping to score some your only hope now is to watch the PDX stores like a hawk to see if they get any in (or make friends with some of the BAs that went down for the release; I heard it was really chill and people ended up with multiple allocations).

I actually like the more "traditional" ones from the PNW: Jubelale,Ebenezer,Wassail etc
I had Hop Valley Festeroo last night and it was right up there with those old warhorses.
Great PNW style winter ale ( silly name though).

When did SN & Lagunitas become NW breweries? . I'll suggest Boundary Bay Cabin Fever, Schooner Exact Hoppy The Woodsman, Skagit Trumpeter Stout (maybe some BA bottles this year? There will be draft, but perhaps brewery only. Although I suspect a keg or 2 to make it to Hamsterham.), Jubelale, B-Bomb, and Kulshan Tannenbaum.
