I've searched the forums and haven't been able to come up with anything new. Last I heard GI had talked about releasing a 2nd round of BCBS. Is this still the case? If so, any news on a time frame? If I'm not mistaken, I was thinking it was to occur sometime soon. Thanks for any insight!

I talked to a rep. from Goose Island, and he said not till April or May. With my experiance with these guys, it always seems to get pushed back.

Well they sold a new batch of spent Bourbon County Stout Barrels about 4 weeks ago so it should be relatively soon.

I wish they would just do a brewery release. I would wait in line for 6-10 hours if it meant I was able to buy multiple 4 packs.

My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw Ferris drop off a 4 pack of BCS at 31 Flavors last night.

If this is true I think they should have just let it remain in the barrels a few more months. Who wants to drink bourbon county during the summer?

I was also told this. When it came around to February, when the next batch was rumored, Indiana just got a few more cases of the bottles dated 11/11/11.

6-10 hours?? You would have came away beerless at the KBS release with the original case allotment.

Better set up an RV the week before release....

I would at night in the desert ;)

In all seriousness though, I thought I was going to pass out the one time I drank a bourbon county in the heat. I felt like a baby who was given some bourbon to fall asleep. I prefer it more in the colder months but to each their own. I will still buy some if it comes around but who would not have minded some bourbon county that sat for a year in barrels!

More time in barrels isn't necessarily a good thing. There is a local brewer out here who barrel ages from time to time, never less than a year, and everyone comes out as a fucking mess. I know it worked with Rare, but those were special barrels. It's not like BCBS is hurting for barrel notes as is.

I talked to a gentleman who works at GI late last week while picking up KBS at the Binny's around the corner from the Clybourn Brewpub. There is a second batch of BCBS in the works, but he had just talked to the brewers and it isn't quite ready yet. However, this batch is going to be an a**kicker as it is gauged at least 14.5% abv.

I'm pretty sure Goose Island was just doing its part to commemorate the 79th anniversary of the ending of Prohibition:
