And finally, for the killshot. Due to an unfortunate logistical error involving mother in laws and such, we turn to the digital age. @oline73 really set the bar, and then proceeded to vault right over it. Ridiculous DOX my friend. I'm more or less speechless. Many thanks and although I'm told I can't retaliate, that doesn't mean I can't bring things to share the next time we hang out. Cheers!!!

I owe several days of beers and a killshot - apologies for falling behind on this

Day 8 was another 3 fer! (plus a wrapped glass)

Judging by the glass, these 3 12 oz beers were the Hot Garbage set from Voodoo! The naming, packaging and, art on the glass crack me up!

Contrasted to the Zangief beers the day prior, Hot Garbage was a bit thicker and sweeter - lots of brown sugar.

    8A:
Hot Garbage Aged in Buffalo Trace Barrels
    [IMG]

    8B
Hot Garbage Aged in Early Times Barrels
    [IMG]

    8C
Hot Garbage age in Woodford Double Oak Barrels

Favorite of the bunch - may have been swayed by the chicken feather wax.

I didn't get a ton of differences between the 3 variants of these, partially because the base beer was so thick and sweet and because the barrels were all bourbon. But I did give a slight edge to the woodford barrel. Enjoyed all 3 a lot!

One funny note to add was that I drank these at a family Christmas gathering and the "Hot Garbage" name had everyone shook haha. I let a few cousins/aunts try a sip and they all hated it lol.

    Day 9

Another Voodoo 12 ozer. Popped this one and maple aroma burst out!

This was a delicious, sweet stout overflowing with maple. As this warmed, the coffee came out a bit and nice bourbon barrel smoothness. But the maple was the star and it was awesome!

Really Thin Pancakes aged in bourbon barrels!

Really delicious beer - thanks @tommyguz

    Day 10

    More voodoo, I assume!

Pouring this beer, I realized that I got a short break from stouts, something maltier and not as dark. Big time fruity aroma. Diving into this - I couldn't necessarily pin the beer style, but was getting peach and boozy notes.

I had seen a few others in the group post this K13 in peach brandy barrels, so that gave me my clue. Definitely got the peach brandy big time, but the base was unlike really any barleywine i've had. Almost reminds me of the apple brandy gran met that @dannyfayy (I think, could have been @robgage) sent me in a long ago BIF

Thanks for this unique beer (and the break from stouts lol) @tommyguz

    Day 11

Another 12 oz Voodoo beer - I'm not even sure whats left from them that Tommy hasn't had me try at this point!

Another stout, pours nice and dark. First sip brings on loads and loads of chocolate! This tastes like something other than Black Magick, more chocolate and a bit more sweet? As it warmed, I picked up notes of coffee and maple to really round this beer out.

This beer revealed itself to be Voodoo Imperial Breakfast Stout aged in boubon barrels. Absolutely delicious!

    Day 12!

Assuming voodoo - this one is a bomber. Pours dark, but a sip reveals that this doesn't have that voodoo stout thickness. Getting tons of chocolate and some malty flavors, toffee, some raisins? Took me a while to place it, but figured it had to be a scotch ale, which is a sleeper style for one of my favorites!

Really enjoyed savoring this one - so much chocolate and toffee! Getting to the bottom of the bottle/glass revealed some minor sludge that led me to believe this one was aged for a while.

Opening this - its a sweet cellar pull! Tenacious Wee Aged in Eagle Rare barrels! This is from 2013, are you kidding me?? Has aged very gracefully!

    Ok, finally, the killshot!

An amazing 12 days - I think I drank every Voodoo Barrel Room Collection beer in existence!

So lucky to have Tommy as my sender for this! So many of these Voodoo beers were wishlist and fun to try! And Medianoches are a permawant - great stouts!

Hard to pick top beers from this lineup but some standouts were Summagick, Black Magick Double Oak, Really Thin Pancakes, and the vintage Tenacious Wee!

    Rundown of the days:
Day 1: Voodoo GNVP maple bourbon barrel AND GNVP Tawny Porto barrel
Day 2: Voodoo Baltic Porter rye whiskey barrel AND Baltic Porter Tawny Porto barrel
    Day 3: Voodoo Summagick
    Day 4: Weldwerks Rye Medianoche
Day 5: Voodoo Black Magick Brandy Barrel
Day 6: Voodoo Black Magick Woodfood Double Oak Barrel
Day 7: Voodoo Zangief set (Boubon, Port, and Rye)
Day 8: Voodoo Hot Garbage set (Buffalo Trace, Ancient Age, and Woodford Double Oak)
Day 9: Voodoo Really Thin Pancakes bourbon barrel
Day 10: Voodoo The K13 peach brandy barrel
Day 11: Voodoo Imperial Breakfast Stout bourbon barrel
Day 12: Voodoo Tenacious Wee Eagle Rare barrel

On top of all this nonsense, Tommy sent multiple piece of #PGW, a load of extras for me, some delicious food items (the Miller's hot bologna is gone!), an awesome shirt, and more.

And on top of that, a box of extras just for my wife - some delicious ciders and wine. She was so excited to get her first "beer" box and really felt like a part of Locals family.

    Can't thank you enough @tommyguz !!!

Thank you to Dave, my senders, and the rest of the group for another memorable 12 DoX.

The standout beers for me this year were Two Phones, Freemont Brew 3000 and L4L (extra). Really glad to have gotten to try these. Had more brandy barrel aged beers in the last month than I have had in my entire life! Thank you for sending @valrxman.

Alright, taking a break from my crazy work load to catch up on my posts. I apologize for slacking. I should have known better.

    Day 2: it's a crowler!

Smells like a hazy to me and very piney. Probably some NE style ipa because it is more bitter and hoppy. The hazebros probably wouldn't like this one because it's too bitter. I am starting to like more of the bitterness than sweetness in my IPAs. Pour is definitely hazy.

I wouldn't mind more of these crowlers that's for sure.

    Day 3: Stout time!

Pours out super thiccc like oil and barely any head. Smells fruity and I'm tasting some kind of berry notes to it. Maybe raspberry? Gold cap so I am guessing it is from Cycle.

Kind of fitting that I poured a berry stout in a Berry White glass. Definitely was not intentional.

For the first time, I actually guesses right on the beer I was drinking! I can taste the cocoa nibs more as the beer warms. Don't taste any vanilla though. Raspberries are the only fruit I will allow in stouts. Great to revisit this one again. East Coast's version of Jam the Radar. Given that this is a collab with Bottle Logic. Duh.

I signed up for Local because almost all of those bottles are within 1 hour from me; it just so happens that Speciation makes world class sours & Transient makes world class stouts. I didn't ask for him but @treznor was a worthy recipient because he barely gets to tick any beers

This is true, this 12 DoX allowed me to double the number of checkins I have on Untappd!

Seriously man, this was an awesome box and so happy I got to try a ton of Michigan beers that I haven't had and try a ton of awesome stuff from a couple breweries that I've had only a couple things from and been really impressed.

    Thank you again Jeff!

So I had an unexpected family issue arise which took me away from home for a bit, so the opening of my last two bottles was delayed a bit. Nonetheless, I was finally able to get to them, and oh man did @Lazhal end on a high note.

First was another cork and caged 750 from Speciation. I had guessed Red Currant for the first bottle, which ended up being elderberry, but it showed up in the second bottle! Less acidic and a little more balanced than the Elderberry, definitely a killer brew.

The final bottle showed me a cap from Perrin. Only one beer crossed my mind, and it’s been something I’ve wanted to try for a few years now.

No Rules! Sweet brown sugar, hints of coconut, chocolate, caramel, and bourbon. What a way to end the 12 DOX!

Final kill shot of each beer. Tons of fantastic stuff. Hard to top No Rules, but the Deth by Plums and Gravitational Attraction were right on its heels. Every beer was a treat, and I can’t thank @Lazhal enough for the assortment.

Cheers to everyone! Can’t wait to do this again next year.

Had to take a little break after 12 days. So now I’m on to the 4 Floaters of New Years.
Floater 1 pours dark and has a HF cap. It’s tart, but has an awesome lemon thing going for it. Very enjoyable. I’m gonna guess Leaves of Grass, but I have no clue which one.

    Day 4:

Pours so dark. I’m afraid how my liver is going to feel after this giant ass bottle. Smells and tastes like chocolate. Thin mouthfeel to it though. However still tasty. This was a great beer to enjoy on Christmas Eve while prepping dinner for the family. Felt a nice buzz since i drank a whole 750 bottle of a a barrel aged stout.

wow. Can’t ever go wrong with Cigar City. Missed the coconut! Should’ve known but couldn’t quite pin down that flavor. Thank you @kayakandbeer

Poured dark and thick. Got a hint of Apple At first, but then bourbon. Sipped on it for a few hours last night. I couldn’t pinpoint any adjuncts but there was something else.

Black wax made me think Kane bottle. And the pour instantly knew it was a Barleywine. Black wax barleywine .... had to be object permanence. Case closed !!!
But after the first sip, I got some rye spice, and a dry finish. I knew they made a rye object permanence, so maybe it was that. But I did know this was an amazing beer !!
Kane - Stacking casks. Rye barrel Barleywine and wheatwine finished in Pineau des charentes casks. Now I know where that dry finish is coming from. As this bottle warms up, it’s really an incredibly complex beer, some dry grape, some rye, some toffee. Absolutely loving this bottle, thanks for sharing Dennis !!

Gonna guess another Kane bottle based on wax. Smell and taste had some rye. Initial thought was rye object permanence. But I don’t think it’s a Barleywine. Whatever it is, it’s really good, smooth with lots of barrel.
Kane - Picture in Reverse, Rye Old ale. Very good stuff. I feel like I got to try every barrel aged style that Kane makes. Thanks Dennis!!

That beer almost didn't happen. Originally I planned to use those cherries in a sour golden ale. But through some happenstance and blind luck, I ended up putting peaches in the golden beer.

That beer started out as a wild amber Saison. I was able to get Montmorency cherries from a local farm. And you drank the result.
