12 Days of Christmas - 2020

So my further north box took a day and a half to have tracking updated but finally shows up. The box that's not as far north that was supposed to be delivered today now just says Pending. This is not the fun part of these BIFs...

The good news is, I've been following said 2nd box (got the email notification), and based on where it left this morning, it SHOULD come tomorrow. Probably just delays due to the weather. Would be honestly shocked if it doesn't come tomorrow (based on past packages hitting that distro center)

 

Good to know. Your box wasn't worrying me at all earlier today. Looked like it hit the distro center after trucks went out so would go out tomorrow. But my other box didn't get updated for almost 48 hours (though has now finally) was putting me on edge and then seeing your box hit 'Pending' status, whatever that means...

I can never figure out who my senders are until the box lands. On top of that, Seth used UPS, which didnt line up with my FedEx super powers account for notifications..lol

I also couldnt help but use the swag (glassware) right away because Seth knows I love my glassware, especially BND/Answer glasses. Beers came cold right out of the box, but this is WI and thats the best part of getting boxes this time of the yr.

Things to note: my 7yr old daughter loved the Santa beer wrapping, she was intrigued and asked a few questions about the whole 12 Dox...haha

Second- looks like alot of new ticks and some great beers to enjoy!!

3rd: blind chug....haven't done a chug since my college days...eons ago..but I love a challenge

First the extras - lots of locals & that Sapwood glassware is awesome. I’d followed Mr Tonsmeire on his Mad Fermentationist website & his shift from home brewer to brewery owner.



Then the days...speaking of Sapwood....the bottles look very similar to one of the extras so maybe Cory has a theme in mind. The box is awesome!



The helles is in the fridge to eat with Friday night pizza & Josh’s Day 0 beers are ready to go for Saturday & Sunday. Time to get started!

 

One thing I forgot to mention earlier, was that Benji @Dad_of_Rad sent along the 12 sided dice that Chris @soma27 sent him for his 12 DOX last year, so I'll be pulling all my days randomly for the first time.

I already rolled for Day 1 and came up with #3 so I'll get it chilling. In the spirit of the dice though, I also lined up the extras on my beer fridge and rolled for tonight.



This is a pineapple bomb. Crazy fruity and just like a tiki drink. Reminds me of Latitude 29!

Looks like UPS finally dug out of the snow in PA and they are saying package will be delivered today

 

Got home late to a box from @ninjembro, packed full with some #pgw, tasty looking extras, and what appears to be a lot of sours. Perfect choice, as it seems I'll be in stout town with my box from my SWTFYW sender



Since nothing is marked, from what I can tell, I'm guessing this will be a choose your own adventure Xmas. Thanks Corey, can't wait to dig in!

 

My other 12 days box from @Bum4ever came yesterday.

First the cans. 2 sours with Guava sound amazing. And some new west coast ticks. Love the art work on “Neversending story”

A couple of the days + a drink whenever Sara bottle that went right in the fridge.

Enjoy, both of you! That "All Good Things" was the only one I wasn't sure about including, but figured I would as an extra. The brewery it's from is very hit or miss, and I'd never had a BA stout from them before. I did open a can myself AFTER packing the boxes, and think it passed the test.

And yep for both of you it's "choose your own adventure". Cheers! (Also, glad the glasses both made it safe, that was honestly one of the things I was most worried about haha)

 

Between the onslaught of Amazon/holiday packages and having already received my six days from @Franfab I'd kind of forgotten.about beermail. So when the wife told me I had a package when I got home I put off opening it until this morning. Then I picked it up and heard the familiar glug glug of liquid moving and said "ohhhhh my here we go."

 

Stouts, stouts, stouts! Just an incredible array. Bottle Logic, Side Project, Half Acre.... My God @Franfab you consider these to be extras? What's in my 6 days, just 3 each of Cable Car and Dave?!

Glad my 2nd target shoveled snow...the FedEx deliver guy is going to need a clear path today. Hope he wears a back brace because I lied about the lbs on the box.

Hate to say it, but I’m starting to fear this one was KIA. I sort of suspect one of us will get the remnants in a bag a month from now. (Of course, I’m always wrong about these things, so here’s hoping posting this is a backwards jinx!)

 

Yeah when I talked to USPS the women said she saw no issues with the delivery, or reasons to think it's anything but shit's delayed. I can't file a claim yet.
Shouldnt be hard to make a new package and get it out though.

Fairly certain this is a first. Definitely #hardmode.

Need to make sure the link you paste has a '.jpg' at the end. Usually need to click on the picture itself to get the share link, not just the album (which looks very similar if you unload just a single picture at a time like many of us probably do).

@lateralusbeer I'd say there's a good chance that its still on the way. I had a package sit for a week at the Greensboro sort facility, my wife had a package sit for 2 weeks there, both were just delivered yesterday. Nothing wrong with the packages, they're just overwhelmed because of Christmas, understaffed because of Covid, and not able to work overtime like they normally would due to budgets.

I'm fairly certain they're separating out the Amazon packages (and probably other large corporate contracts) as a separate stream as they seem to be delivered on time generally, but other packages they're getting to when they get to.

Long story short, good chance its still on the way, they're just taking their sweet time.

 

So being the first one lucky enough to get their box this year means I was able to put some damage into the extras. @RuckIt i really enjoyed getting back into the treehouse lineup, and for some reason i think I might still have one more official day to go. That Eternity was a nice post-shovel treat.

Yeah, I was just reading another article about USPS backups and am back on thinking the box is fine and will get here eventually. I’m holding out for a Christmas Eve Miracle — or, at worst, a MLK Day Miracle!

 

Ryan - obviously you can feel free to age any of it. My intent was to give you the good beer and you can decide when you want to take them down. You mentioned a preference for coconut and coffee and I had a lot of that available to me. When it came to the swag, I wanted something that could be useful to you. For what it's worth my wife had a Christmas present sit in Akron OH for close to 10 days without any movement before popping up in Cincinnati and delivering with the same verbiage
