At B allydoyles Aurora. .. Proprietors, Coffee, Barleywine, Backyard, and Regular. Along with food ""pairings"". $30 for everything.

    Pours were 7-8oz.
""Pairings"" ( I use that word loosely, creativity/thought of the dishes seemed to be nill) were as follows:

1st: Proprietors and a coconut blackened shrimp salad with citrus. (would never have thought it was coconut shrimp if they didn't say and still not entirely convinced it was coconut shrimp[reminds me of proprietors hehe])

2nd: Backyard with bacon wrapped chicken. Backyard was as I remember, too sweet for me. Though not so overwhelming, so I could see how some could like it(and I do like big, sweet stouts). Bacon wrapped chicken was about as simple as you could imagine.

3rd: Regular BCBS with Jalapeno stuffed with cheese and wrapped in bacon. Tasted good, but just nothing I would take my time to go to a restaurant to order. Super basic; wheres the creativity?

4th: Barleywine with Mac and cheese bites topped with bacon. More bacon, I love bacon as much as the next person, but did I miss the part of the flyer that said this was a bacon tasting?

5th: Coffee with a chocolate covered strawberry, a ""chocolate covered truffle"" (not what I would call it), and a chocolate covered slice of banana.

I just got back from there. No way those were 7-8 oz pours. All were served in large shot glasses or shooters, 4oz max. Not complaining since I'd be passed out if I had 35-40 oz of bourbon county beers. Totally agree with the pairings being off. Only one that worked was the coffee in my opinion.

The whole event seemed a bit disorganized and actually took almost two hours to get to the third pour. Bottom line, it's still bourbon county beers and it's still awesome. They can serve it in a porta potty and I'll still go.

    Cheers

Was gonna go to this but decided to pass. @PlayaPlaya @chibeerguy1381 Couple quick questions, Was there a lot of people? Were they pouring out of bottles or draft? Could you purchase more BC after the tasting?

I looked into this event and was told 3 were going to be poured from bottles and 2 were draft so there may not be extra after (my guess was regular and barleywine were the draft).

Sorry this reply is just speculation

I think a bunch of people didn't show up. Looked like a bunch of empty seats there. I think only the regular and maybe barleywine was from a keg. The rest were bottles and when I asked the rep about buying some after he wasn't sure. The staff worked really hard but they didn't know either. The event took so long that I didn't stick around too long after the last pour

It did take longer than I expected and they did apologize for the 45 minute wait in between the 1st and 2nd beer (and we didn't all get the first beer (coconut) until about 35 minutes after the "start" time) . They said they were having a problem with the draft system, which theyve said before, but it wasn't the end of the world. I enjoyed a Hairy Eyeball on draft.
The rep. from the distributor, after being asked by a really annoying guy, said we might still be able to find the proprietors in Binnys. I thought that was interesting.
