We did a tasting last year with all four barrel aged variants and I wanted to see if anyone has interest in doing this again. It's pretty simple, I would provide one variant and three others would provide the rest. Each of us could bring one to two "guest" depending on what the 4 contributing people decide. I would love to do this sooner than later. I would also like to set it up in Terre Haute Or Indy depending on the interest. So...any takers?

How'd it go last year? Was it just the BA DLs or was it a bigger tasting?

Where do you plan to do it? I would love to jump on this if I didn't think these beers would really benefit from some aging.

We had other beers as well as a 4 year regular Dark Lord Vertical. I would suggest that other beers be present. We could even have the "guests" provide one or two beers as their contribution.

If it is in INDY we would need to nail down a location. Could you host?

... never thought I'd see the day when a growler of Bourbon Vanilla Dark Lord was referred to as an "other beer"...

I think it will be split. The Bourbon and Cognac should age well but I expect the Vanilla and Muerte to fade.

I didn't mention it because I have no means of providing one and didn't want to get their hopes up.

Damn, Indy is right on the edge of being too far... It's about an hour and a half away from me.

Nothing is ever "too far" if whales are being popped.

Well shoot, if we are going to be twisting arms here...

I have the Vanilla, Cognac, and De Muerte. If it works out and I can make it, I might be able to bring one of them. Or I can bring a vintage Dark Lord (I have 2010 thru 2012 now)

I remember this tasting. It was definitely a good night. We had other limited beers as well. Not too many of us. It was the right amount of people. Raise your hand if you were there for a head count lol. Hopefully we can do it in Chicago again, if not I'll just do it myself along with an unknown variant!

As long as you say the phrase "Good Game" at the same time then it implies No Homo...............

I've driven to Cincinnati a few times for tastings. I don't think you're at all too far for a tasting, but given the nature of the beers, you'd need to ensure that you are consuming food and a lot of water. Those guys are a cool crew too, you'd be signing up for a good time.
