I am a noob to the HMOG. I would recommend the 30th so it's not the weekend of St. Patrick's Day.
Also, I have a couple questions...
Do you just show up with your bottles and pop them open and as people come around start sharing?
Do the bottles get put on a table and people just pop what they want to taste?
Or, are there designated people pouring?

March 2nd! Hopefully that will be the date, otherwise it will probably be out for me this year.

March 23rd is the Peach State Brewoff, it'd be nice to avoid that too. I'll second the 30th.

As always, thanks for all the work organizing this Lee.

The 30th is Easter weekend this year, so folks might be travelling or have family visiting. My vote would be March 16th. Thanks for organizing Lee.

If I brought 2 bottles of Yazoo Sue and a bottle of Dogfish Head Old Schoole Barleywine, would that be sufficient or is that not rare or aged enough? Just getting a general idea.

I second Jay's vote for March 16th. Although an easter egg hunt in the Belgian bar filled with vintage bottle caps sounds randy!

My preference would be March 30th. As long as it is not the 16th, I will likely be there.

Those beers would meet the requirement that they are beers not distributed in Georgia. Many that end up showing up think that bringing Dank Tank or Side Project bottles are cool because they were "rare" when we all know they aren't even if they are older bottles. Regardless they were available here and do not belong regardless of age. The ones you mention do not fall in that boat, but you have to decide how you feel showing up with those compared to what other people bring. Here is the list for all those that showed up the last couple of years and were not too lazy or embarrassed to put their beers on the sign up list.

I vote for the 16th, as looking at the schedules I likely won't have a game. But who knows, that could change too. Hope I can make it.

I have family in town for Easter which prevents me from making it. I vote 16th (or 2nd). Bump to keep responses coming.

It is really crowded, so you open your bottle (of something not sold in Ga.) and weave through the crowd, offering samples to your new friends. And maybe getting a sample or two in your glass along the way. :)

I'll be out of town visiting family for Easter on the 30th, but it sounds like I'm in the minority.

I can't do the 30th because I'll be at the Doo-Nanny that weekend. No, I won't tell you what it is, you have to Google it.

Don't let that stop you if it's the Will of the People, though!

That being said (about Georgia-issued beers) if all you can bring are multiple bottles of Canadian Breakfast Stout and Black Note, some of us might overlook your transgression. But just this one time. :p
