I am going to murder everybody.
Hey, has anyone here ever heard of a store that has a lot of flags? I hear its pretty good, but dont know anything about it.....
Can anyone confirm banners? I've really been looking for a stylish CONGRATULATIONS banner for special occasions.
This beer better be pretty god damn good when I try it to warrant a 21-page thread.
I do believe, especially if you had past years, that its totally worth it.
Gingerman was out. Grumble, grumble...
Opened the 1st of mine and it was low carb, but hopefully the rest are a bit better. Still good.
Anyone remember DR12? It had like 0 carbonation at first and slowly got some good carb with a few months on it...In my own opinion I suppose I should add.
Currently enjoying this baby at Draught House; going to follow it with a Double Jack. Glad they still had some by the time I got back! Combined with Hancock HEB's still having Sucaba and Double Jack, today is shaping up to be a good day.
I hate you. had to settle with a half once of pecan porter thtat ikicked before i got to opals marina. then setteled for a glass of ....... nevermind too drunjk to continue......

Nominated for "Post of the Year"
Tried a bottle over the weekend, liked it but wasn't blown away. If anyone needs this in Houston and has something pretty interesting to IP trade, BM me, I might let a bottle or two go.
I'm sorry sir, I only gave it... an A.
FINALLY popped the top on one of the 5 bottles I had. This is damn nice. I echo the sentiments that the carb could be a little higher. And I also wish I could taste the barrel a little more.
I have a tendency to just sit, hunched over my glass, inhaling the smell from the barrel (the other beer I do this to is V@S, no stalkiness-about-V@S-and-you intended). I agree that maybe it could be a bit more present in the taste, but I worry that it might do a little more masking than I'd like. Certainly there's a middle ground to be reached.
The Growler Room is tapping their one keg Sat at noon. $20 for half growler, $40 for full growler. No samples.
Really really wish I were in town for that. No amount is ever enough .
is this still on tap anywhere? My parents fly in on tuesday and definitely would like to share this with my dad
For those complaining about carb, just open a 12 bottle with a 13 and mix them.
I'm willing to trade a bottle of this out, BM me.
Draught House had it on Wednesday. No promises, but it's possible.
Also, a friend pulled through for me, so I have another liter waiting for me back in Austin . $20 is a little steep for the 1L growler alone, but... eh, I won't complain. (Much.)
it was $20 for a 750mL in Houston.
You know how much this would have cost at the banner emporium????
No, no! The pour was $20, and the growler itself was $20, so $40 total. I had a 2L, but didn't want to take 2L of this golden nectar, nor did I want to pay for it, nor did I think I could drink it all while sticking to my diet. Also, I could use a 1L growler!
But yeah! 750mL was like $23 at the goddamned Vexillological Barn. Compared to $17.15/750mL at HEB and $5.75/10oz (296mL) at Draught House... no thank you!
I'm not sure if you've actually been there but the 1L growler is pretty friggin sweet. The more I see it, the more I like it. The price is the only thing that kept me away since the 2L is $5 more... I'll probably break down and get one though.
I also applaud you for finding an occasion to work in a vexillilogy reference and also LOL at following it up with something as basic as the word "barn"
eta - and if it makes you feel any better, I bought a second 2L for Dean to do some inscribing work on PLUS the fill so it was 65 and another 12 for the Guadalupe Scotch 2L fill.
I've actually not been down there in person yet, so I don't know what the design looks like. I'll have to check it out! I too was glad to be able to work in that horrible word. Sorry that you blew so much money there, but it at least seems like a good place to do it .
I know a place in Houston that has it. They are highly UNlikely to sell out anytime soon.
Which is why you should not tell all the idiot masses about it
Oh, I didn't mind spending it at all
You are now the proud owner of this.
It's at Benjy's in the Village $10 a pint. I had to warm it over a candle though. lol
I just had this at Ginger Man Dallas and now regret not buying every bottle of 512 WBDPP I could find. Worse yet, I spent more on a bottle of this for my friend than I did for a glass (per oz).
You know... I think that that was a good buy.
I love them. Wide mouth is easy to fill, seal has kept beer fresh for 3-4 months (yeah, no shit) and it's replaceable gasket that can be bought @ Austin Homebrew, online, or even @ the Growler Room once they're shipment gets in.
Dean also inscribes with vector art files so you can have him add a logo/motto/slogan/picture at a later date too. I think the only ones I like better are the stainless (I think they're far better storage vessels but some of the visual appeal is lost in my eyes) and the ceramic german top (but those are around $100-$125 each).
edit: 3-4 months w/o being opened. as soon as the first beer is poured, you're still on the clock like every other growler.
that would be pretty epic, haha, i saw reports of a wal greens in chicago that got fou foune, bad ass 24 hr corner stores FTW
thought everyone was sold out in austin? you would be wrong!!! found a place with a couple cases of WBADPP left. BM to find out where.
