I'm going to be in Minneapolis for a wedding in late November, and I have a few hours to kill on a Saturday afternoon. I'll probably only have time for one thing, so I'm looking for suggestions on the best beer place to visit, whether it be a brewery, bar, or something else. I will have a rental car, so I can get just about anywhere. I looked briefly into tours/tastings at Surly, but wasn't sure if that was worth it or not (the tour I mean, not the beer...Surly beer is delicious!). Thoughts?

I would go to two places, right across the street from one another. Town Hall Brewery, then over to Republic. That is considering you only have time for one thing. You could potentially have several world-class beers. I was at Republic last week and our group finished one of the state's seven kegs of Bell's Oracle.

At Town Hall there is always Masala Mama as well an excellent rotation.
