Yesterday a few of us local hop heads got together for a small tasting of hop filled beers at the Seal Beach location. KRBC Citra, Heady Topper, Hopslam, Smuttynose FinestKind & KRBC Winter Ale made a special apperance as well as Beachwoods Laurel, Lagunitas Sucks and Noble Ale Works Royality TIPA. Needless to say we walked out of there full of hop flavored beers. They all ranked in their own. Heady was probably a week old. Citra was bottled the end of January. Citra still stood out for me. But the fresh Heady was almost equally as good as Citra. Two different DIPA's. What can I say about Hopslam? I want some more slam. A big and bold hop bomb coming in at 10%. But the Royality was a surprise to all of us. It tapped just as we were finishing up our tastings. We had to hang around a bit more to soak in all the ABV's. A big shout out and thanks to those in attendance. You know who you are. And again a big thanks to Kyle, Gabe and the crew at Beachwood.
It doesn't get better than that to kick off our weekend ! Good time indeed and Royalty stole the show, simply an amazing effort from Noble Ale Works. Cheers....
