Actually, locals for locals is a great way to get started in trading!

With the "mentorship" mentality, maybe @Jzmhector could help you figure out what's available in your area that people often trade for. Zack is a great BA and a regular trading partner of mine, and I'm sure he'd be willing to give you some advice.

There is plenty of people who would do that. And some of your shelfies may be something like wicked weed sours which many people would send their best IPA/DIPAs to try and do it $4$.

@pmoney, thanks for the shout out dawg! @Tehdangerdan NC has plenty of great beers that plenty of people would be interested in. Hop drop and roll, and wicked weed beers are some of my trading partners' favorites! Don't be hesitant man, just package your box well and be generous in your extras and you will have no problem developing great trading relationships.

Start small...that is the best advice I'd give any new trader. Do a few local for local trades. Set a dollar amount (50-75 or so). Do a trade that does not require any type of huge box (negative space is NOT your friend in trading). And pack like you're shipping your prized possessions.

When I've traded with new traders, I've noticed skimping on packing materials/quality boxes. This is asking for trouble.

    Cheers and good luck.

The best trade partners are the ones who are exciting about sending awesome beer just as much as receiving. All my longtime trade buddies, we don't discuss what we are trading for, we just talk about what new kick ass beer is going in each other's box (keep the best ones a secret) and send em off when it's full. Cheers

So I just moved into my first house and @pmoney had a box hit my porch the day we moved in for his response to the trade in the OP...

Prop was my #1 want, he didn't have one so he traded for it in secret. Oh and he threw in 3 Crooked Stave Cellar Reserve beers just because. I need to share this ridiculous act of kindness on his part with everyone. Patrick is the definition of a Beer Advocate, just an awesome guy!
